  • Why do I need to use the calibration microphone included with my JBL Quantum ONE?
    We believe the baseline performance of the QuantumSPHERE technology is cutting edge in terms of localization. The calibration feature improves upon this performance by calibrating the system to your individual anatomy.
  • Why is alarm using the buzzer instead of an FM/DAB preset?
    If the preset DAB/FM station signal is not strong enough the alarm will go off in buzzer mode instead. Make sure the signal is strong enough, by checking that the station plays without static or distortion (FM).
  • Why is my soundbar having interference issues with my mesh network?

    If you have a mesh network (more commonly seen in Eero Mesh networks), it is possible that you may experience your satellite speakers or subwoofer intermittently disconnecting from the soundbar. This is similar to normal interference that occurs with products on a similar wireless frequency. The special thing about Eero mesh networks is that they do not allow you to move a device to the 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz band. The system will automatically decide which devices should be on which band and will move them accordingly (switching whenever needed). Some of our soundbars run on a 5Ghz frequency which is where the interference can occur. Since we cannot change the signal in which they operate and we cannot change the band they are connected to via their Eero mesh network, there are a few things you can do to try and stop this from occurring. 

      

    1. Move the mesh nodes far away from the soundbar 
    2. Use the 2.4Ghz band instead of the 5Ghz band (if your mesh system allows this) 
    3. Ensure to enable/utilize the MU-MIMO setting (not applicable to all mesh systems). Please refer to your router's website to see if MU-MIMO is being utilized by default. 

      

    What is MU-MIMO? 

    MU-MIMO stands for Multi-User, Multi-Input, Multi-Output. This allows for the router to send a signal to multiple devices at one time vs. the previous version in which the router would be able to connect to multiple devices, but only send the signal to one device at a time. 

      

    NOTE: You may notice that when the soundbar is turned on, there may be a dip in the immediate internet speed, but it will go back to normal within less than a minute.

  • Why is my speaker beeping & flashing?

    This speaker has a USB-C charging protection safety feature. This safety feature will play an alert sound & cause the LED indicators to flash when the charging port has detected water, salt, or other chemical. When you encounter the alert you will need to remove the charging cable, wipe down any excessive moisture on or around the charging port, and leave the speaker in a area to completely dry off. Once it is completely dry, you'll be able to plug the USB-C cable back in and charge your speaker.

  • Why is there no battery charger in the box?
    This is because standard USB charging is possible from so many sources and chargers, and also from computers. There is a charging cable in the box, which permits charging from all USB chargers of at least 1A capacity.
  • Why is there no USB-C charging cable included with my product?

    To minimize e-waste, we consciously choose not to include a charging cable in our packaging.

    You can use any standard USB-C cable to charge your JBL product as well as a power adapter compliant with the USB-C standard.

    Past product already have standardized USB-C cables, which can be reused for new products.

  • Why is there no USB-C PD Adaptor included with my speaker?

    To minimize e-waster, we consciously choose not to include a USB-C PD Adaptor in our speaker packaging.

    You can purchase the dedicated 15-60W JBL USB-C PD adaptor on jbl.com or any other retail stores. Simply connect the USB-C PD Adaptor with your speaker and enjoy the guaranteed performance JBL promised.

  • Why is the sound from the ELITE models different with NC activated?
    In the ANC on mode, we take advantage of advanced signal processing to finely tune, and personalize the audio performance. In passive and in ANC off mode, that signal processing is not running, so you may hear a difference in audio performance
  • Wi-Fi vs. Bluetooth streaming
    Using Wi-Fi allows you to listen to your music in a higher sound quality since Bluetooth protocol compresses the audio signal, where Wi-Fi data easily stream HD Audio content. Take calls without interrupting your current audio music, where Bluetooth will interrupt the stream, because it is a one-way protocol. Control your music from anywhere in the house, where Bluetooth have a limited range. Play the same music across multiple speakers and when using the newest connect features, such as Spotify Connect or Chromecast built-in, then you don't have to worry about battery life, since the devices playing is doing all the data transmission compared to Bluetooth, where it is data between source and device.
  • Will Control Xstream switch off when they are not used (standby)
    This speaker will go to standby mode after 10 minutes inactivity. It turn on when you start playing to it again.
  • Will Harman Display Surround always be on?
    Only if you have pressed the button on the remote or Boost TV itself.
  • Will it work with a wireless microphone?
    No - it is not designed to work with a wireless microphone.
  • Will my music be interrupted if I want to use my phone for other purposes while casting?
    Yes, when casting music to your JBL Playlist, your speaker is connected to Google Cloud, which will turn your smart device into a remote control, rather than streaming music directly to the Playlist. You can easily do other things with your phone while using Chromecast, such as gaming, texting, make calls, watch Youtube etc. This will not interrupt the music that you are casting.
  • Will my soundbar enter standby-mode automatically?
    Yes, after 10 minutes of no audio activity, the soundbar will enter standby-mode automatically. Or you can do it yourself by short pressing the Power button.
  • Will party mode transform stereo pairs into mono singles?
    No, the re-broadcast signal is in stereo. Stand alone speakers will play both Left and Right channels.
  • Will the DUET go into standby by itself?
    Yes, if no audio is present and no buttons are pressed, DUET will go into standby after approx. 10 minutes.
  • Will the head tracking feature work when connected via Bluetooth for the JBL Quantum 910P/X?

    The head tracking will only work when connected via the wireless USB (A or C) dongle. The reason for this is that the head tracking technology uses a lot of processing power and a low latency connection.

  • Will the head tracking function (JBL QuantumSPATIAL 360) work when connected to a PC/PlayStation/Xbox without the JBL Quantum Engine installed?

    When connected to a device using the Wireless USB (A or C) dongle the head tracking feature (JBL QuantumSPATIAL 360) will work. To enable JBL Quantum 360SPHERE and spatial calibration the JBL Quantum Engine is required.

  • Will the JBL Playlist remember my last volume change when entering standby?
    Yes, it will only go back to default volume if the power is switched off or if the device is reset. The standard volume is set to 50%.
  • Will the personal settings of the phones be remembered even if the battery runs totally dry?
    The core settings: EQ, smart button, auto features will be recalled from the headphone when recharged. Ambient aware settings will default to off when the headphone is restarted after charging.
  • Will the Playlist speaker support JBL Connect?
    There is no plan for adding JBL Connect support for Playlist speaker. But you can group any speaker together that support Chromecast built-in for multi-room experience.
  • Will the setting of the EQ influence the TruNote calibration results?
    No, it will not change the TruNote autocalibration results. TruNote equalizes the acoustics of the headphones to the specific fit to your head As is the case with any supplemental equalization setting, it will change how the audio sounds to the user
  • Will the speaker get damaged, if i take off the front grill?
    No, you can certainly take off the front grill if you like the design of the speaker without the grill. However, do not touch the tweeters or woofers, as they can be damaged if you touch them. For ourdoor purposes, we do not recommend taking off the front grill.
  • Will the speaker play under water?
    The speaker is not intended to play under water, but it will continue to play even though it is submerged under water.
