Can I connect more than one Soundgear to the BTA transmitter?
No. The two Soundgears can connect to the BTA, but not to each other.
Also, when using one Soundgear, the use of aptxLL may result in a delay. If you are connected to two, the delay may be more noticeable, since LL is no longer active.

Can I use the Soundgear with its BTA 20 Bluetooth transmitter with all kinds of sources?
Yes, all sources that output analog stereo line-level signals or stereo audio optical digital signals may be used, cable-connected to the BTA 20 transmitter.
Digital signals must be in PCM format.
So if you have a CD player or an FM radio, you can connect the BTA 20 to it, and transmit to your Soundgear (or to other Bluetooth headphones that support the format).
Please note that record players need an additional preamplifier to work this way.
Of course a TV set can be connected as well, either via optical digital PCM output, via line outputs or via headphone output.

What are the two openings at the back of the Soundgear used for?
These are bass tuning canals, used to provide full sound.

I have connected the BTA 20 transmitter to my TV with the digital optical connection, but I get no sound on my Soundgear. How come?
Please make sure that the audio out format is set to PCM in the TV. Dolby Digital or other surround formats will not work with the BTA 20 transmitter.

Yes, you can use your Soundgear for TV watching or playing video games.
You can use the TV speakers and the Soundgear simultaneously, they will be synchronized in time.

Can I adjust the call tone level on JBL Soundgear?
While you have an incoming call, and you can hear the call-tone from your SoundGear, simply adjust the SoundGear's call-tone level to the desired intensity, using the SoundGear's volume buttons.

How do I power on and pair the JBL Soundgear?
Slide the power button in an upwards position. The power button will be located on the right arm next to the bluetooth button. Once you power on you will hear the audio chime. If this is your first time powering on the speaker, it will automatically go into pairing mode. You will see the fast blinking LED light as it searches for a device. Make sure that the device you are attempting to connect to is in pairing mode. The JBL Soundgear should be displayed on your discoverable devices within 3-8 seconds. Choose the JBL Soundgear and you are now connected!

Can I connect my Soundgear with analog jack cable, or other cables?
No, Soundgear is wireless Bluetooth only, and needs to be charged to play music.
But the BTA 20 transmitter must of course be connected with a cable to the signal source.

Does the Soundgear support aptX?
Yes, Soundgear supports aptX LL (Low Latency).
(aptX is a way of packing more information into a compressed version of a signal).

What is the difference between Soundgear and Soundgear BTA?
The difference is the BTA unit, which is a Bluetooth transmitter.
The Soundgear BTA comes with the BTA unit in the box. The Soundgear does not.
The BTA can be connected (with a signal cable) to a TV set, a CD player, or any other stereo line-level source, and can then stream this signal to the Soundgear wirelessly, via Bluetooth.
TV sound or game sound are possible, since the BTA and the Soundgear use aptX Low Latency, which reduces the audio delay to levels, where picture and sound will be closely synchronized. This is also the secret behind the option to connect two Soundgears to one BTA unit, for two people to share a TV transmission, or a video game.
Actually, you can use the BTA to stream to most other Bluetooth headphones and loudspeakers, but only if these devices also support aptX LL will the delay be low enough for video use.

Switch the Soundgear ON. (If this is not possible, reset cannot be performed.)
Press and hold Volume + and Volume - simultaneously for longer than five seconds.
Soundgear switches OFF, and is now reset to factory settings.
