SoundBars

  • My Soundbar is not found during setup. How do I solve that?
    1. Ensure that your JBL One app device is less than 10m/33ft from the soundbar during the initial set-up.
    2. Ensure your JBL soundbar is plugged into power and the power LED is illuminated on the BAR.
    3. Unplug the power cord, wait 10 seconds, reconnect the power cord and allow the speaker to power up.
    4. Temporarily relocate either the BAR or router so that they are closer together.  If the connection succeeds, the original location may be too far from the router to maintain a stable connection.
    5. Try using a different device with the JBL ONE app installed and connected to your home network.
How can I get a software update?
Once the speaker/soundbar is connected to the network, software updates will automatically be sent to the product through Wi-Fi or the internet, if available

When using the JBL One app to set up my speaker, my Wi-Fi network is not appearing in the list. How can I connect to my Wi-Fi network?

My sound bar's dialogue is too low/the surround effects are too loud.
When listening to multichannel content you may find that your dialogue isn’t coming in as clear, or your surround effects are louder than you’d like. Our sound bars have a feature called ‘Smart Mode’ that implement our unique JBL Surround Sound as well as other tailored EQ settings. While these are great for content that needs a helping hand, for some multi-channel content it can be overwhelming. If you feel like you’re running into this, you can disable ‘Smart Mode'.

To disable the smart mode, do the following:
    1. On the remote control, press and hold MUTE for more than 3 seconds. Press Volume Up (+)
--> Current mode is displayed. "ON SMART MODE": The smart mode is enabled.
    2. Repeat Step 1.
--> You Switch to another mode. "OFF SMART MODE": The standard mode is enabled
--> Next time you switch on the sound bar, the smart mode is enabled again automatically.

  • How to pair your Subwoofer
If you want to add more depth and bass to your LINK BAR, we have a dedicated subwoofer (not included with the LINK BAR) that you can purchase!

Pairing the Subwoofer is very simple:
    1. Turn on the soundbar and the subwoofer. If the connection is lost, the LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly.
    2. Press the “Subwoofer Pairing” button on the SW10 subwoofer to enter pairing mode. The LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks quickly.
    3. Press the “Subwoofer Pairing” button on LINK BAR, the LED indicator on the LINK BAR blinks rapidly
    4. If successful, the pairing LED indicator on both subwoofer and LINK BAR will be a steady white LED light. If pairing fails, the sign on the subwoofer blinks slowly.
    5. If the pairing fails, repeat the steps above. If you are still experiencing problems, please try to switch off all wireless devices in the home (such as routers, TV sets with wireless function, telephones, computers, etc.), then try again. It may be overcrowding on the 5GHz frequency, which often causes problems. By eliminating all other wireless activity, this will help space for the LINK BAR to establish its connection. You now should be able to pair without problems. Once pairing is complete, you can switch your devices on again
How can I enable 10-bit color on the HDMI Inputs?
To get the full potential of the HDMI content/source you have in your home, then you need to enable HDMI UHD deep color option on your TV for the HDMI output port (ARC).

Since there are tons of different TVs and manufactures out there, the best way to see if your TV can use 10-bit color on HDMI, is to read the TV's manual or call their support section.
    Our recommendation for wall mounting
Every person has different preferences for wall mounting products. Nevertheless, we tried out varies options and found this to be the place for optimal sound performance.
    1. Use the included "Wall-mount guide" that came with your LINK BAR.
    2. From the down edge of your TV screen, measure 50mm (using the guide for the screws) or 5 cm or 2 inches depending on the country.
    3. It will perfectly align the LINK BAR close to your TV and give the best performance.
Also, you won't have to deal with HDMI cables being too short!

These are our recommendation if you want to place it further down, be our guest!
The sound and performance will still be magnificent!
The best way to clean your LINK BAR
To clean your LINK BAR, use a soft dry Microcloth to remove dust and dirt.
We wouldn't recommend using any alcohol as it may harm the product.

  • Does the soundbar upscale my video to 4K resolution?
The soundbar passes through content from a 4K video source but does not upscale video to 4K.
How do I pair the subwoofer to my JBL BAR soundbar if pairing does not happen automatically?
Normal pairing is automatic, and happens when you first switch both devices on. If pairing does not take place automatically, or you have to force new pairing, here is what to do: Turn on the soundbar and the subwoofer. If the connection is lost, the LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly. Second, press the CONNECT button on the subwoofer to enter pairing mode. The LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks quickly. Third, press and hold the DIM DISPLAY button on the remote control for 5 seconds, followed by short press on BASS+, and BASS- button in sequence. Panel display will show “PAIRING”. If pairing succeeds, the LED indicator on the subwoofer lights up, and the soundbar display will show "DONE”. If pairing fails, the indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly. Lastly, if the pairing fails, repeat the steps above. If you have continued trouble performing the pairing, please try to switch off all wireless devices in the home, then try again. This means routers, TV sets with wireless functions, telephones, computers etc. Since overcrowding on the 2.4 GHz frequency now often causes problems, eliminating all this activity makes space for the Bar to establish its connection, and you should be able to pair without problems. Afterwards, you can switch your devices on again. Often, all will now work fine, and if not, you will know which devices are doing the interference.

  • What does the Audio Feedback button do?

My remote control is not working. I have a credit card-sized remote with disc type battery. Do I need to replace the remote control?
It is usually not necessary to replace an unresponsive remote control. First, check to see if there is a small plastic tab extending out of the base of the remote control. This is a protective sleeve installed on new remote controls to prevent the battery from draining. Pull this tab to remove the plastic sleeve. The sleeve must be removed before the remote will operate. If the sleeve was removed or not present and the remote control is not working then a new battery should be installed before replacing the remote control. There is a small slide out drawer that houses the battery. The battery type will be either CR2025 or CR2032 for remotes of this size. Replacement batteries are commonly available from most electronic and convenience stores that sell small batteries. Check the number on the original battery and replace it with a battery that uses the same number. These steps will typically solve the problem.
I cannot connect the subwoofer to my SB150, how come?
If the pairing mode is not succesful, please move the subwoofer closer to your SB150. The pairing process can take up to 30 seconds before a connection has been established.
Is it possible to update my JBL SB150 by myself?
If any update exist, then it is only possible to get it updated, via our authorized service center. The USB port on the back, is meant for service use only. Contact support for more information.
