FAQs & How-Tos
Sleep Mode FunctionalityThe Horizon 2 does not have sleep mode functionality.
Changing the Battery
On the bottom panel, rotate the battery cover into the unlocked position and remove the cover. Press the battery clip visible on the back side of the battery compartment to allow the existing battery to come out. Then insert the new battery in the slot with the + side visible (facing up), and install the battery cover again. Rotate the battery cover to lock it into place.
Alarm Volume AdjustmentYou can easily adjust the volume to your choosing while setting your alarm on the Horizon 2. When setting your alarm, choose the Alarm Bell 1 or the Alarm Bell 2 on the top of the speaker. As you go through your settings when choosing an alarm time, it will give you the option to adjust the volume setting you wish to have on the alarm. Just simply adjust the volume by turning the volume knob on the top of the speaker. After you choose the volume, press the volume knob once to move to the next settings option.
Please note: the alarm volume will gradually increase until you choose to either snooze or turn the alarm off completely.
You must first set a radio preset by tuning to a radio station and holding down the 1, 2, or 3 button to save it. After this, the preset will be an option when setting up a new alarm.
When setting up the alarm, the options will be displayed in the following order:
1. Set Alarm Hour.
2. Set Alarm Minute.
3. Set Recurrence - Weekday/Once.
4. Set Ringtone - 4 built-in alarm tones or radio preset 1/2/3 (see information above).
5. Set Light - On/Off.
If the light is set to 'On' when the alarm is set up, once it goes off it will gradually increase in brightness over 10 seconds.
Alarm and backup battery information
On backup battery power, please wait 50 seconds for the alarm to turn off automatically.
Screen brightness information
If the screen appears dark, try repositioning the Horizon 2 for the light sensor to work to the fullest. In some positions, the Horizon 2 cannot effectively detect the ambient light level in the room.
How to Turn Off or Snooze the AlarmOnce an alarm is set and starts to ring, it can be snoozed by tapping the large central knob/button on the top of the unit (circled in yellow in the image below). If this button is held for more than 2 seconds it will turn off the alarm.
The duration of the snooze cannot be changed and is fixed to 9 minutes. The alarm will continue to ring for 3 minutes and if not turned off or snoozed, it will automatically snooze after this time. It will automatically snooze for a maximum of 3 times, but if the snooze button is used before this occurs, the alarm can be snoozed an unlimited number of times.
Once snoozed, the display shows the time that the alarm will next ring.
To keep the radio playing after the alarm is turned off, press one of the 3 preset buttons or the DAB/FM button as desired.
How to Reset to Factory SettingsPress and hold the 'DAB/FM' & 'Preset 1' buttons for more than 2 seconds. The Horizon 2 is now reset to the default factory settings.
Horizon 2: How to Turn Off/Bluetooth Standby TimeTo turn off the Horizon 2, Press the 'DAB/FM' button until no radio is playing.
This works in the order (from standby/off): DAB / FM / Off.
In Bluetooth mode, if the phone or tablet is disconnected, or nothing is played for 10 minutes, the Horizon 2 will go into standby mode automatically (not changeable).
Why is alarm using the buzzer instead of an FM/DAB preset?
If the preset DAB/FM station signal is not strong enough the alarm will go off in buzzer mode instead. Make sure the signal is strong enough, by checking that the station plays without static or distortion (FM).
