FAQs & How-Tos

  • Can I factory reset my JBL Playlist speaker?

Yes, the JBL Playlist can be reset to factory settings. First, Power ON the JBL Playlist. Secondly, press and hold the Play and Volume (-) buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds, and after 10 seconds you should see the Play/Pause and Bluetooth button light up, followed by the speaker going into Standby. Once you see the speaker powers back ON, reset is complete.

  • Does the Wi-Fi indicator on the front of JBL Playlist, has to be at full signal to work?

If the Wi-Fi indicator has all 3 LED lights on, then the signal to the speaker is extremely good, and if only 2 LED light up, then the signal will be good. If you only have 1 LED light or No LED light we suggest moving the speaker to a different location for a better Wi-Fi signal and better audio experience.

  • How many Bluetooth connections can I connect to the JBL Playlist 150?

You can have 3 smart devices connected at the same time and by pressing play on either one of the sources (smart devices) will start streaming music. The speaker can remember up to 8 paired smart devices and when this buffer is full it will release the first added device in connected sequences. Resetting the speaker will also clear this buffer.

  • I cannot play any of my local playlists on Spotify via JBL LINK 10, 20, 300 or 500. How come?

To play your own created playlist, start with "Ok Google, Play my Playlist (name of your playlist)".

  • How can I upgrade the speaker?

By using Google Home app, and if a software is available then the app will notify you about the newest software available. Google Home app can be downloaded from Apple Play Store or Google Play Store.

  • How do I use the multi-room functionality using Chromecast built-in?

1: From your device, open the Google Home app. 2: Select the "devices" tab to see your available Chromecast devices. 3: Scroll to find the device card for one of the Chromecast available speakers you’d like to add to a group. 4: In the top right corner of the device card, tap the three dots icon, to enter the menu settings. 5: Tap Create Group. 6: The default name of the group is Home group. To rename the group, erase the name and type in something new. 7: You will now see a list of all available Chromecast devices. 8: To add or remove a speaker from the group, tap the check box next to its name, please note that at least two devices are required to create a group. 9: Tap Save, and your new Chromecast group is created. In any Google Chromecast streaming services, you will find the recently created group and the devices that are within the specific group. That means you are able to play a specific group or device of your choice.

  • Will the JBL Playlist remember my last volume change when entering standby?

Yes, it will only go back to default volume if the power is switched off or if the device is reset. The standard volume is set to 50%.
