150-watt, dual 5" (130mm), centre-channel speaker designed for performance.

The centre-channel speaker is the hardest-working speaker in your surround-sound system. Having developed some of the most sought-after surround-sound experiences for movie theatres throughout the world, JBL® engineers know how to make centre speakers work hard and sound great. The JBL EC25 centre is perfect as a stand-alone unit and even better when used with others in the E series such as the E30 bookshelf speakers or E150P powered subwoofer. The EC25’s dual 5-inch (130-millimetre), PolyPlas™ woofers provide powerful bass without “boominess,” plus clear midrange sounds for crisp, clean vocals; its 3/4-inch (19-millimetre), titanium-laminate tweeter delivers frequencies up to 20kHz and features Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal™ (EOS) waveguide technology, which directs sound toward the listening area and away from the walls, making every seat the best in the house. The EC25 measures 18 x 6-7/8 x 10 inches (457 x 175 x 254 millimetres) and comes in an elegant, black-ash enclosure that is sure to enhance any listening space. It’s also magnetically shielded, so you won’t have to worry about it interfering with your video screen. With the JBL EC25, you’ll experience movies and music as if you were in the theatre or at a live concert.

JBL engineers have designed the EC25 for serious audio output. We recommend that you power it with a separate 150-watt amplifier, whether you are using the speaker as a stand-alone unit or as part of a stereo/surround-sound system.
The EC25’s low-frequency driver produces uniform pistonic motion and effortless, high-impact bass. Premium components such as PolyPlas coating on the driver and a HeatScape™ motor structure give you low distortion, few internal resonances and the freedom to play loud and long.
Titanium is light but strong – an ideal material for high-frequency speakers. The EC25 speaker’s extremely thin but rigid titanium-laminate tweeter delivers accurate, undistorted high-frequency response, even when the volume is way up. The result is full, clear, tight reproduction of high frequencies.
High-frequency and ultrahigh-frequency sounds are directional – they don’t spread out very widely, and they reach only a narrow range of the people in any room. But the proprietary Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS) waveguide in the EC25 speaker widens the sound’s range to fill the entire room. You’ll get ideally balanced music, crisp dialogue and smooth audio distribution throughout the listening space. As a result, every seat will be the best seat in your home theatre.
The EC25’s IsoPower™ baffle design rigidly affixes the drivers to an extremely dense, non-resonant baffle. It allows the drivers to generate maximum air movement and energy, while minimizing energy loss.
Heat can distort a speaker’s sound and lowerits output and power handling. Fortunately, the EC25 includes our proprietary HeatScape motor structure, which removes heat. As a result, it operates efficiently and reproduces sound accurately.
The ideal path from input to components to transducers is a straight line. The EC25 takes the shortest path possible, thanks to its Straight-Line Signal Path™ design. As a result, the speaker preserves the clarity, detail and dynamics of any audio content that it plays.
The magnets in many speakers can interfere with video reception, but not the magnets in the EC25. We’ve shielded them to prevent interference. You get not only a clear TV picture but also installation flexibility, since you can place the speakers as close to your screen as you want.
JBL loudspeakers have been the choice of music and movie professionals for more than 60 years; they are behind the screens of more than 50 percent of all movie theatres and hang in concert venues everywhere. Many of your favourite songs and movie soundtracks were mixed or mastered on JBL studio monitors. But you don’t have to be a recording-industry pro to bring JBL sound home. Our home systems use technologies, materials and manufacturing techniques developed for professional speakers.
