  • Do I need to link my Google account to my JBL LINK 10, 20, 300 or 500?

JBL LINK speakers require a Google account to operate. Your search history on the JBL LINK speaker will appear in your Google account's search history. • I have poor picture quality when streaming videos

The quality of content depends on your Internet bandwidth. The minimum Internet speed is at least 25Mbps (megabit per second) or above for the best performance.
When using the LINK BAR to the WiFi router, always use 5 GHz WiFi band for highest performance at any time.

If you are still struggling with the quality of your content, then we have added an Ethernet port (LAN connection), which allows you to wire the LINK BAR for a steadier connection and performance.

    More actionable advice:
    • Limit your device(s) at night or when you are streaming content that requires the best performance possible!
    • Upgrade older product that could cause slow data transfer.
    • Move devices that are capable of connecting to 5 GHz WiFi and leave "Legacy" product on 2.4 GHz only.
    • Upgrade your router. Upgrading to a newer generation router is cheap and effective way to improve your home network in every way. It provides both a better Wi-Fi range and stronger signal.
    • We are recommending that you go for a mid to high-level Wi-Fi router.

  • Cleaning Instructions for Re-establishing Charging

It is not uncommon to have charging problems with True Wireless headphones. You may encounter that charging stops, does not start at all or that one of the ear buds suddenly switches on and begins the pairing process. This is almost always caused by dirt on the metal charging contacts. These contacts are vulnerable because they can easily be contaminated by sweat, skin grease, or ear wax. They are usually gold plated, but gold plating does not prevent surface dirt.

If you have charging problems, the first step is to always clean all contact points, on each earbud and on the charging case.
You will need: cotton cloth or makeup swab, cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol.

Use a cotton swab with some rubbing alcohol to clean the charging terminals of the headphones. Rotate the swab and scrub lightly on each contact surface, then use a cotton cloth to remove any dust and cotton residue left on the headphones. It is important to perform this process periodically to keep your headphones clean, thus avoiding affecting the charging speed/quality.

Wipe the contact pins in the charging case with a clean cotton swab. The swab can be slightly moistened with rubbing alcohol, but it is important that the interior is completely dry before closing the box. Use the cotton cloth and wait for it to dry.

Repeat until the contact points are visibly clean, and charging should work as designed. This procedure can be performed on all TWS earphones and cases.

  • How do I get a secure fit with the Headphones?

First, it is very important that you use the correct size enhancers (rubber tips). While the tips may appear too large, these do not go all the way into your ear canal. The enhancers are supposed to fill the entire bowl (concha) of your ear, so please be sure to try both sizes to ensure a comfortable fit. To properly put them on, first make sure you have the Right and Left earbud in the correct ear. Next, gently insert the enhancer into your ear with a forward motion towards the jaw, twist and lock into place. If you’re unable to find a secure fit with both sizes in the box, we can send you a complimentary sizing pack with two additional sizes. Please email us from our Support Page at https://www.jbl.com/support-contact.html to request yours today.

  • Bluetooth Troubleshooting

    How to avoid Bluetooth interference/interruptions:

    • Always have a clear line of sight between your Bluetooth device (speaker, headphones, etc.) and source device (Smartphone/tablet/PC, etc). Be aware of obstacles in front of your devices.

    • Try to shutdown products that have Bluetooth, but not are not being used. They are often the reason for interference even though they are not being used.

    • Do not stand too close to your Wi-Fi router since a Wi-Fi signal is stronger and in many cases will "overlap" the connection.

    • Be aware of walls around you. Concrete and brick walls will often interrupt the signal, as it cannot pass through such thick walls.

    • Bluetooth signals cannot travel through water, which includes the human body. Make sure with Wireless Headphones to keep your Source device and the receiver on the same side of your body.

    • Open spaces such as parks can cause issues for your devices, as open air is "bad" for any Bluetooth signal if it cannot reflect from objects around you.

Pairing issues with a Smartphone or Tablet:

    1. First, try to restart the Bluetooth connection on your source device (Smartphone/tablet/PC) by switching Bluetooth off and on again with a short pause in between.
    2. "Forget" (remove) the previously paired connection (on your smartphone/tablet/PC) in your Bluetooth settings if you had once paired with our product.

    3. Try to restart the source device(Smartphone/tablet/PC) by powering it off and on again, and after restarting try to establish a Bluetooth connection to your product.

    4. If the above does not work, then try to restart your product (Portable speaker, Headphone) by turning it off and on again.

    5. Press and hold down the Bluetooth button on your device (Portable speaker, Headphones) to initiate pairing mode again.

    6. Go into the Bluetooth settings on your Smartphone/tablet or PC to start the pairing process.

You should now have a successful pairing with our device, but if you are still experiencing issues then contact us again.

Pairing issues with a Computer or PC:
In most cases when a Computer/PC/Laptop has issues connecting to a Bluetooth device (Portable speaker, Headphones, Active speakers), it's caused by your Computer/PC/Laptop's Bluetooth driver (software).
The driver (software) should support the following Bluetooth protocols, to be able to play music/sounds from your Computer/PC/Laptop:

    • A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) driver for your Computer/PC/Headphones to transfer music.

    • AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) driver to send skip/forward/pause/play music to your device

Always get the latest driver version available for your Computer/PC/Laptop.

To download the correct driver (software), visit the manufacturer's website of your Computer/PC/Laptop. They usually have a "Support/Download" section where you can find the correct driver. Otherwise, contact their support.
The standard drivers provided by Microsoft/Windows systems are often not correct, and will result in error messages (such as having to enter a PIN code), or pairing not working.

    What is Bluetooth technology?
Bluetooth technology is a wireless technology that exchanges data (Music etc.) over short distances from a mobile device.
Bluetooth range depends on your surroundings (reflection from objects) and what chipset is being used (some can go 1 meter, 10 meters or 100 meters).
Our Bluetooth devices typically supports up to 10 meter distance from the source device.

Explaining the different Bluetooth profiles used in our devices:
Many of our Bluetooth devices have a specification sheet like Bluetooth Profiles Supported: A2DP v1.5/AVRCP v1.6. These are the protocols that a specific Bluetooth speaker or Headphone device is compatible with. This might look too technical for some customers, but all you need to know is that Bluetooth Speakers and Headphones they are the only ones with these profile that you need to be aware of:

A2DP – A2DP stands for ‘Advanced Audio Distribution Profile’ and is a Bluetooth protocol that allows mobile users to stream high quality (stereo or mono) audio wirelessly. If you want to listen to your music on a pair of Bluetooth headphones or speakers, both devices need to support this.

AVRCP – AVRCP stands for ‘Audio/Video Remote Control Profile' and controls remote functions such as pause/start/skip/forward.

HSP – HSP stands for ‘Headset Profile’ and is a Bluetooth profile to enable a two-way wireless Headphone to be used with a Bluetooth smartphone. In our Headphones this is one of the most common Bluetooth profiles and supports simultaneous two-way (full-duplex) audio, but it does not support stereo audio.

HFP - HFP Stands for 'Hands Free Profile'. This profile provides the same abilities as HSP does, but adds abilities such as redial last number called, voice dialing and call waiting.

    Note for HSP and HFP:
You can also use it with devices other than phones, like your Computer/PC with a Bluetooth Headphone that could be used with a Bluetooth-enabled PC and VoIP software to place an Internet phone call (NOTE: some PC software requires different drivers for specific purposes like SKYPE - Always refer to the manufacturer of the PC/Laptop for help with setting this up).

  • I'm trying to connect my product to my home network or router, but it is not working. How can I fix this?

    1. Disconnect/unplug the product from the network cable. If dealing with a smartphone, forget the wi-fi on the phone. 2. Shut the router completely OFF. (do not reboot, you must turn it completely off) 3. Boot the router up and let it complete it's connection with everything, usually a few minutes. 4. Shut the router completely OFF, again. This is REALLY important. Before turning it off a second time, the router still has the product in it and is looking to connect to it. Shutting it off a second time allows the router to go through a complete power cycle without ever seeing the product, so it will remove it from its system. 5. Boot the router up, again, and let it complete it's connection with everything. 6. Now plug-in/turn on the product. The router should find the product and all should work. 7. If dealing with a smartphone, search for the wi-fi and reconnect to it. All should work after this.

  • Battery troubleshooting

Please note: this text concerns Lithium-Ion batteries only.

    HOW TO CHARGE
If a charger (power supply) comes with your product, use the original charger.
If you have a device with standard charging socket (such as micro-USB plug that goes into the device, and USB plug that goes into the charger) use chargers with approximately 0.5 to 2.0 Amperes capacity. While you can get chargers with a capacity of 5 A or more, only use them if your device was designed to be charged with this much power. Around 1 A is fortunately close to what you can expect from the majority of computer USB sockets.
Charging should take place at between 5 and 45 degrees Celsius (41 to 113 F).
It is wise to charge only where you can observe the device, so you can stop charging if overheating should occur. A smoke alarm is a good idea if you want to charge while sleeping. It is also possible to use a safety bag, sometimes known as a LiPo bag, to increase safety. You simply put your device into the bag, then seal the bag and begin charging.

    BATTERY LIFE
The life expectancy of Li-ion batteries is 500 to 1000 recharging cycles. You can expect full capacity until you have recharged about 500 times. From 500 to 1000 recharging cycles, capacity will decrease gradually, until almost no capacity is left, and the battery will need replacing, if this is possible and economical. Life expectancy is optimal when the battery is being used between 10 and 50 degrees Celsius.

    WHAT NOT TO DO
First, never charge too quickly! This may damage the battery, and may even be dangerous, so do not use high-capacity chargers, unless your device comes with one as standard.
There is no memory effect in Li-ion batteries, so do not treat them like old Nickel-Cadmium types (which you had to run dry regularly).
This means that you should never run Li-ion batteries completely dry. Actually, this will damage the battery. Whenever you can, keep them between 20 and 80 per cent capacity, where they perform best. However, it is better to charge the battery to 100% capacity than to run it dry.
Never charge if temperature is at freezing point or lower (0 degrees Celsius, 32 F), since this will almost certainly damage the battery. Never carry out express charging (charging with high-capacity charger) if temperature is between 0 and 5 degrees and over 45 degrees Celsius, but only use a lower-capacity charger in this temperature interval. Do not place devices in direct sunlight at all, and never charge them in direct sunlight.
Never place the device that is being charged on a sofa, rug or clothing when charging. This can cause heat to build up, which can in turn cause overheating. Always place it on a flat, hard surface, where heat can dissipate quickly.

    GENERAL BATTERY INFORMATION
Most rechargeable devices use Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) polymer batteries these days.
This type has high energy density, very low memory effect and low self-discharge.
You can find them in electric cars, golf carts, power tools and other applications, besides portable headphones, telephones and loudspeakers.
Various subtypes exist that have different strengths and weaknesses, depending on the chemicals and metals used.
Batteries gradually self-discharge, even if they are not connected to anything. Usually, you can expect a self-discharge of about 2% per month when the battery is new, and this may increase somewhat with battery age and temperature.

    15. The shape of yurbuds appears different and larger than the earbuds I am familiar with, can you explain more about how they fit and if and why they are comfortable?

The ergonomics of yurbuds sport earphones are indeed different and it is that unique design that creates the TwistLock™ and the guarantee that they will not fall out nor hurt. Our development team studied the human ear, and, as athletes, we know the demands on sport earphones. The results of that research are yurbuds. We encourage you to explore the various offerings on jbl.com.

    16. Will my JBL LINK 10, 20, 300 or 500 share all information with Google?

Google has high privacy rules and one of them is not to share end-user data with any third-party apps. Apps like Uber do require you to share personal details for booking, which you already accepted when using the service.

    17. How do I connect the inputs and outputs of the Club 5501 car amplifier?

The Club 5501 is a mono amplifier for subwoofer use in cars. It can be confusing to see that it has two inputs, marked left and right, as well as two speaker output pairs. But it is still a mono amplifier, with only one channel. The two inputs are there to make it easier to connect to a normal car radio/head unit, where you will often have two normal full-range connectors, left and right. You can insert both into the 5501. However, if you only have one signal lead going to the 5501, you can use either of the inputs. They are combined into one inside the amplifier anyway. Also, the two sets of speaker connections are there to make it easier to connect two subwoofers simultaneously. The two sets are completely identical, so you can use either one for a single subwoofer, or both. If you connect two, they will be in parallel.

    18. How do I activate the SIRI® and Google Now™ voice assistant integration on my JBL Boombox?

      1) Download and run the latest JBL Connect app on your phone 2) The JBL Connect app will begin discovering your JBL Boombox (please make sure your speaker is connected via Bluetooth first) 3) Use the toggle switch in the JBL Connect App to change the phone button to now have the voice assistant function 4) Simply press the “Play” button on your JBL Boombox (you will hear a brief tone) and begin speaking your commands via SIRI and Google Now. 5) Please check the below links for more information regarding SIRI and Google Now available voice commands: SIRI: https://support.apple.com/HT204389 Google Now: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/2940021

    19. Does the Wi-Fi indicator on the front of JBL Playlist, has to be at full signal to work?

If the Wi-Fi indicator has all 3 LED lights on, then the signal to the speaker is extremely good, and if only 2 LED light up, then the signal will be good. If you only have 1 LED light or No LED light we suggest moving the speaker to a different location for a better Wi-Fi signal and better audio experience.

    20. Which apps are supported via Chromecast built-in feature?

    29. How does our system figure out which speaker you talked too?

Let's say you have 4 LINK devices in your home and you start your day with "OK Google, How is the weather?".
All of your devices will "light up" and start listening to the command. However, only one of the speakers will give you the information (if they are under the same account).
The speaker with the best microphone reception will respond with an answer.

Please note: if you have muted all speakers or 3 out of 4 are muted, then only one will respond and the rest will not react.
If all speakers are muted, all will be silent.
    30. Is my Partybox Supported by the JBL Partybox App?

This model is not supported by the JBL Partybox App.
    31. Battery and Charging Issues

Many Harman Kardon, JBL and AKG products run on rechargeable batteries. In most cases, these batteries will provide years of excellent service and keep the music playing for many hours.

WARNING – the rechargeable batteries inside our products are not user-serviceable. Please do not attempt to open the product or replace the battery. Doing so will void your warranty.

Battery issues fall into three categories:

      • Your speaker or headphones run out of power after only a short time.

      • The speaker will not play at all because the battery will not hold a charge.

      • When you plug in the cable to charge your speaker, sometimes it charges and sometimes it does not- the red charging LED or other indicator might not come on.

Here are some things to try that often fix these issues.

      1. It could be as simple as a bad USB charging cable. If you have other charging cables, give them a try. (Be sure that the cable has the same type of connector as the original one that came with your product.)

      2. Same for the charger- if your product charges by USB, try a different USB charger. Be sure that it is rated at least 2.0a (2 amps) output.

      3. Try other electrical outlets at your location to be certain it is not a local wiring issue.

      4. Charge the product overnight for at least 8 hours.

      5. When you plug the charging cable into the speaker or headphones, is the connector stable, or can it be wiggled around? If it can be wiggled, this could indicate that the charging port has been damaged or come loose. Sometimes wiggling the connection restores charging power.

IMPORTANT: Some products such as Xtreme, Xtreme 2, Boombox, Partybox 100 & 300, GO+Play and the Onyx Studio series do not use USB charging. Instead, they have a specialized charger. Do not attempt to charge these products with other cables or chargers.

If none of these fixes the issue, it could be that the battery has died or is losing its capacity, or that the charging connector on your speaker is damaged. Please contact us so we can assist you. Be sure to mention that you have tried the steps in this Battery & Charging FAQ so that our agents do not ask you to repeat these steps.

    33. My Xtreme got dirty after a day on the beach. Can I rinse it under the faucet or shower?

Yes, rinse it under a faucet or under the shower, but not under full water pressure.

    34. I have trouble connecting my LINK 10, 20, 300 or 500 speakers to my Wi-Fi using an Android device.

When using an Android device, you need to have location service active on your phone or tablet and make sure that you allowed "Google Home app" to use the phone or tablet location service. However, make sure your Wi-Fi router has UPnP enabled and that you do not use any network extenders while connecting the product.

    35. I experience delay on some Playlist speakers in my group. Can I do something?

First, open your Google Home application. Then find the speaker(s) that has a delay, while playing in a group. Tap the "three dots" icon next to the speaker, and select "Settings". Tap the "Group delay correction", and a new screen will appear. Adjust the delay by scrolling the bar to the right. You can adjust the delay up to "100 ms" per speaker. The best way to find the right delay for the speaker(s) is to play music to the group they are in, and adjust it to match the group while playing.

    36. Learn how to troubleshoot when you can’t connect your Google Assistant device to your home Wi-Fi network.

      The Checklist

Let us walk-through a list of things needed to ensure every requirement is met.

      1. Check your mobile device if that is able to connect to same Wireless network.
      2. Make sure you are within range of your Wireless router.
      3. Check the Wireless signal on your mobile device, does it have a weak signal then move closer to the router.
      4. Try both Wireless network bands 2.4GHz and 5GHz in case one of them are failing.
        1. You will have longer range with 2.4GHz, but less performance and most of the times a crowded network (many devices are using 2.4GHz band).
        2. You will have less interference with 5GHz and higher performance, however, the range of the 5GHz network has shorter range.
      5. Try using a different mobile device, if you have one.
      6. Reboot your Wireless network router and your mobile device.
Watch the video below for help with setting up your Google Assistant device.

      Wireless Network Extender

Some houses or apartments can be too big for one Wireless network router to cover it all.
Let's talk about the issues that might appear with an Extender network.

      1. Network Extenders that will help cover poor signal in your home, often results in poor connection and low speed performance.
      2. Often the Network Extender is a low budget device or not suited for having too many devices attached to it.
      3. Placement of the speaker is crucial as you can put it in a place where it could connect to either main Wireless router or the Extender, that will confuse Wireless network devices.
      4. To solve this issue, try move the speaker closer to main router or have fewer devices attached to your Wireless Extender.
      5. In addition, always use 5GHz connection between your Network extender and main router (best solution and performance).

      One Wireless Network Name (SSID)

      1. You may have set the Wireless Network SSID (Wi-Fi network name) to one big Wireless network (With a main router + Extender(s).
      2. If the JBL LINK device is within range of both Wireless networks (Main router & Extender) then it can get confused with which one to connect to.
      3. To solve this issue, using two different name for your extended network will help with the performance of the JBL LINK Speaker and Google Assistant request.

    41. Can I replace the ear pads on my Everest 700 or Elite 700 headphones?

It is possible to replace the ear pads, but there are details to consider. On Elite 700: The ear pads are held in place by a plastic plate with claws, and some of the claws will most likely break off when you remove the pad. You do this by grabbing under the edge where the fabric ends, then pulling hard outward. The claws will eventually let go, and some of them will break off, rattling inside the ear pod. The only way to get them out is to unscrew the speaker plate, lift it up, and shake out the broken-off claws. The new pads are simply centered over the speaker plate, and the claws pressed into the holes with a firm pressure. On Everest 700: The ear pads are glued into position with double-adhesive tape. Pull the old pads off with a forceful, steady pull, until the glue lets go. Remove the protective layer on the new pads, and carefully position them correctly before pressing home all the way around the edge.

    42. I have another virtual surround sound solution on my PC, can I use it with JBL QuantumSURROUND?

    45. Standby Mode Information

If the earbuds go into standby mode and turn off, you can still use them without putting them back into the charging case.
You can reactivate the headphones by pressing or touching the outside earbud itself.
Please note: They will be automatically powered off after 30 minutes of being in standby mode if they disconnect from Bluetooth. To reconnect, you will need to put the earbuds back in the charging case and take them off again.

It is possible to change the standby mode time with your headphones. To do this, go into the My JBL Headphones app and choose the S
tandby Time via Auto-off function. You can adjust the time to 15min, 1hr, etc., or you can choose “Never” if you want to keep the earbuds turn on at all times. Once you set the Auto-off, the earbuds will work according to the setting whether they connect to Bluetooth or disconnect.

    59. Bluetooth Pairing & Connecting

Three things to know about Bluetooth (BT)…

      1. Pairing:  Pairing is like creating a new contact in your phone’s Contacts list.  You have to do a little bit of work to create the contact, but once you do, connecting with that person in the future is fast and easy.

Let’s put this in terms of phones and speakers (or headphones).  Your phone needs to become acquainted with your speaker.  This is called pairing.

NOTE: Throughout this article, we will talk about your phone. However, it applies the same to tablets, laptops, computers and any other Bluetooth (BT) source device.

To get this started, you have to put the speaker into pairing mode. You may have to press a few buttons to make this happen.  All speakers work a little differently, but generally speaking, follow these steps…
      1. For most speakers, quickly press and release the speaker’s BT button.  However, with some speakers you may have to press and hold the BT button for a few seconds.  Most speakers make a noise or have a blinking LED to let you know they are in pairing mode.

If this does not get you into pairing mode, check your owner’s manual or look for an article pertaining to your specific speaker.
      2. Go into BT settings on your phone.  Search or scan for available devices.
      3. A list of available or discoverable devices will appear on your phone.  Select your speaker.
      4. Two things have just occurred:
        • Your phone and speaker are now paired.
        • Your phone and speaker are now connected so that you can listen to music.
NOTE:  Just as you can have many people in your phone’s Contacts list, you can have many speakers and headphones in your phone’s paired devices list.

      2. Connecting:  Once you have paired, your phone remembers your speaker, and your speaker remembers your phone. However, the two must connect to play music through the speaker.
Automatic Re-connection:  Let’s say your speaker is at home in the living room, and you leave for the day. When you come home and are within range of the speaker, your phone will automatically re-connect to it (assuming it is turned on).  You can press play on your phone, and the music will play though your speaker.  Of course, if your speaker is off, you will need to turn it on first. NOTE:  Some speakers make a sound when they re-connect.

Automatic re-connection does not always happen.
      • Some phones may not work like this.
      • Someone else may have connected to the speaker.
      • Perhaps you connected to a different speaker while outside of your home.
Manual Re-connection:  If your device does not automatically re-connect, you can re-connect manually…
      • Go into Bluetooth settings on your phone and make sure BT is on.
      • Select your speaker to re-connect and play music.
Some speakers allow several phones to be connected at the same time.  Others allow only one at a time.  Therefore, if you are unable to re-connect, it could be that some other phone is connected to the speaker.  In this case…
      • Go into the other phone’s BT settings and disconnect the speaker or turn off BT.
      • Then follow the steps above to manually re-connect your phone to the speaker.
NOTE:  Do NOT Unpair or Forget the speaker in your phone’s BT settings, as this will require you to repeat the Pairing steps above.

      3. Resetting:  This is a drastic step and should only be done if the unit is not operating correctly. Do NOT reset your speaker every time you want to connect.  Resetting erases all pairings to all phones. You would then have to Unpair or Forget this speaker from each and every phone, and start the pairing process all over again. Check your owner’s manual or look for an article with more detailed BT instructions on your specific speaker or headphone model.

To maintain the looks and functions of your speaker, please make sure to rinse it with fresh water after using it at a swimming pool or the ocean, then dry off all covers and areas where water can gather. 78. What is Proposition 65?

What is Proposition 65? Proposition 65 (“Prop 65”) is a California law that requires businesses to provide a warning before exposing individuals in California to any of 900-plus chemicals that California lists as a carcinogen or a reproductive toxicant (“Prop 65 List”). The list is available at: https://oehha.ca.gov/proposition-65/proposition-65-list. The law includes specific warning language that can be used by businesses to comply. The specific warning language is called a “safe harbor.” Why is Harman including this warning? The chemicals in products that require the Prop 65 warning can vary based on product type. Many of the chemicals on the Prop 65 List are common additives found in products such as jewelry, lamps, ceramic tableware, food, lead crystal glasses, electric cords, automobiles, beauty products, and furniture. Does this law apply everywhere? No, Prop 65 warnings are only required under California law. Are Harman products that display the Proposition 65 warning safe? Harman is committed to making products that comply with all applicable laws and that are safe to use. California’s Prop 65 is not a product safety law, but a chemical right-to-know law. We believe our products are safe when used as intended. I purchased this product outside of California, why does it include a Prop 65 warning? Harman sells products throughout the U.S. We do not know where each item will ship. We have no alternative except to place the Prop 65 warning on all of our products regardless of where they are sold. For more information go to: https://oehha.ca.gov/proposition-65/general-info/proposition-65-plain-language If you have any questions about any of our products, please contact: LA.PROP65@harman.com

    128. How do you remove the batteries inside the earcup?

The Synchros Chrome is actually the Synchros S500 in chrome-plated version. On the right ear cup, you will find two ridges. These are there to make it possible to remove the disc that covers the batteries. You just position your fingernails against the ridges, to turn the disc counter-clockwise, against a small notch resistance. The Chrome is not painted, but plated. This means that the material is now thicker, and the lid can be rather difficult to remove, because the locking notches are squeezed into position. There is no other way than to put pressure on the ridges, press downward and in a counter-clockwise direction at the same time, and press until the notches, or claws, finally let go, and the lid rotates into open position, when it will fall off. If the lid does not budge, it may be necessary to use some kind of tool, but that can damage the chrome surface. In extreme cases, it may have to go to service.

The specific warning language is called a “safe harbor.”

Why is Harman including this warning?

If you have any questions about any of our products, please contact:   LA.PROP65@harman.com

      Troubleshooting
    156. Will the JBL Playlist remember my last volume change when entering standby?

Yes, it will only go back to default volume if the power is switched off or if the device is reset. The standard volume is set to 50%.

    157. My JBL GO goes into standby when I play quietly. Why is that, and can something be done to change this?

With some phones, such as iPhones and some Android models, volume is synchronized while Bluetooth is used, and levels below volume setting 6 (tested with iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s) and volume setting 5 on most Android devices will cause the GO to enter standby after some minutes. If you want to play softer while still using your iPhone as a source, please change to cabled connection from the headphone output to the AUX input of GO. This will make it possible for you to set the GO's volume at its minimum step, and then control total level on the telephone. Of course, if source level from the telephone is set extremely low, the GO will go into standby again, because GO needs a certain level to keep playing. Alternatively, use a phone which does not synchronize volume as source. Many Android phones do not synchronize volume, so by using such a phone, you can adjust GO to its lowest level, adjusting total level independently, even via Bluetooth. This will usually result in music volume at the desired level.

    158. I have a delay of sound with video material. Why is that?

During the design phase, it was decided to optimize BT reception, which is achieved by buffering digital signal streams. Since this takes a little bit of time, a slight delay will be the result. We have now optimized the software, so the lip-sync problem is no longer an issue. Video materials can now be watched with proper audio timing. Please check the product support page "downloads" tab for your headphone to check for the update files. If you experience delay, even after performing the update, please be aware that delays can occur for several reasons. For instance, the Bluetooth transmitter in a TV set can introduce delay. Also, some TV sets can cause timing changes if certain image processes are used. Try to disengage image processing, and check if lip-sync adjustment is available in your TV. With YouTube or other streaming services: In cases of lip-sync issues, it may also be a good idea to carry out a refresh of the source website. Always try more than one streaming source to determine if the delay comes from the streaming service or from you connection.

    159. What are the dimensions of T220TWS?

The T220TWS ear pod dimensions are: 21 x 17.5 x 42 mm. The 17.5 mm is the diameter of the speaker pod, which is slightly oval. This includes the audio aperture, which will go partly into the ear canal. The height of the speaker pod is 16 mm. The charging case is 55 x 51 x 30 mm.
