JBL QuantumSURROUND takes up to 8 channels of audio, and recreates a multi-channel setup—including overhead channels—as measured inside one of JBL’s listening rooms. You’ll hear the multi-channel mix as if you’re right in the middle of the game.

The JBL Quantum 200 is not equipped with JBL QuantumSURROUND. You can consider to purchase the Quantum 300, which comes with a USB dongle and access to JBL QuantumENGINE.

It will not upmix 7.1 as powered by the proprietary algorithm for the advanced surround sound. JBL uses binaural synthesis to use 1 virtual source per channel which leads to better precision.

JBL QuantumSURROUND works with every game, but the experience is better when your game outputs in surround sound. If your game outputs only 2-channel audio, using JBL QuantumSURROUND will sound like a pair of studio monitors in front of you. You’ll be able to hear the reflections of the sound in the room, but as with any stereo setup, you won’t have any discrete sound sources behind you. With a full 7.1 mix, you’ll be able to hear and locate sounds behind and above you.

For JBL Quantum 100/200/300 models, they do not offer Game-Chat audio dial function.
To get the Game-Chat dial feature, you need JBL Quantum 400, and up, then you can adjust game-chat balance by rotating the dial-up and down.

For models that support Game-Chat dial, when you rotate the dial, you will feel a notch that indicates 50% game and 50% chat. Or you can see the status on the top bar of the JBL QuantumENGINE.

JBL QuantumSURROUND technology can be used with any type of multi-channel audio content. For example: Netflix content, Blu-ray, and music mixed in 5.1 or 7.1 surround.

Every game has different audio output options and different ways the audio was designed. Some games make better use of multi-channel setups than others. We recommend you experiment with settings in the JBL QuantumENGINE to find the best match for your unique gaming style.

This changes from game to game, but most games have an “Audio Settings” section where you can adjust your game’s audio settings. Check the game’s official website for more information.

You can either press the recenter button on the headset or on QuantumENGINE. Ensure that your head is perpendicular to the monitor before pressing the recentering button.

Any changes you make on the Lighting page will be immediately reflected on your headset.

In general, EQ shouldn’t affect localization — except in the case of the EQ being used very strongly.
