FAQs & How-Tos

JBL Quantum ONE and Quantum TWS: How do I clean my headset?
You can clean it by wiping it gently with a damp cloth. Take extra care not to let water leak into the speaker chamber, as it will damage the speaker drivers.
How can I connect the USB Wireless dongle with my device?
Place the USB wireless dongle in the USB-C connector of your device and place the earbuds in your ears. The earbuds will automatically connect to your USB wireless dongle. If the earbuds don't pair automatically you can manually pair them again by connecting the JBL Quantum TWS to a mobile device via Bluetooth and open the JBL Headphones app. Turn on the "Dongle Pairing" mode and then press the pairing button on the USB wireless dongle. (Note: USB wireless dongle needs to be connected to an activated device). You will get a message on your JBL Headphones app that the pairing is successful and then press "Understood".
How can I switch between Bluetooth and a 2.4GHz Wireless connection?
When the earbuds are connected to the USB wireless dongle and Bluetooth connection at the same time, triple tab on the left earbud to switch between the two connections. You'll hear a tone after you triple tab the left earbud signaling the switching is in progress. If you receive an incoming call from your mobile device, you can double tap either earbud  and the earbuds will automatically switch over to that connection while answering the call.
Which products are supported by the JBL QuantumENGINE software?
JBL Quantum 300, 350, 400, 600, 610, 800, 810 ONE, TWS and Stream are working with the QuantumENGINE
How can I increase the playtime when connected to the USB wireless dongle?
If you are not using the microphone, make sure that any communication software such as Zoom, Skype, Discord, etc. are closed and that your microphone is muted. You can also take advantage of it's Dual Connect feature and place one of the earbuds in the charging case and speed charge the earbuds to extend the playback time.
Does JBL Quantum TWS support the JBL Headphones app?
Yes, the Quantum TWS earbuds are compatible with the JBL Headphones app. It'll allow you to control EQ, ANC and Smart Ambient feature, Smart Audio & Gaming etc. for better experiences with your headset just like other JBL lifestyle products.
Why can't I hear game or music audio?
Make sure the volume is turned up and that the correct device has been selected in the system sound settings. Check the computer volume levels and make sure it is not muted or turned all the way down.
How come I don't have sound or the mic is not working when connecting to my mobile device with the USB wireless dongle?
The JBL Quantum TWS works on most mobile devices, however, some mobile devices restrict the utilization of it's audio and microphone functions via USB-C causing there to be no audio or microphone operation. In these cases we recommend connecting to the earbuds using their Bluetooth connection.
What platforms can I use with my JBL Quantum TWS?

The JBL Quantum TWS supports two types of wireless connection at the same time. It's compatible with any Bluetooth compatible devices while the USB wireless dongle enables compatibility with PC/Mac, PS4/5, Nintendo SwitchTM, TV and iPads and AndroidTM devices with USB-Connection (Note: Type-C supports PS5 while type-A is compatible with all PlayStationTM model).

Why can't your teammates hear you?

Make sure the headset volume control is turned up and your microphone is unmuted. Check that only one voice chat application is in use while in-game. If you're connected to the PC, make sure that the communication device is selected under Control Panel > Sound > Recording. Select the JBL product and select "Set as Default Device". Check on the top bar of the JBL QuantumENGINE whether your headset's game-chat balance dial is set correctly.

Quantum TWS: How does Sidetone work when either Ambient Aware or TalkThru is turned on?
It is not possible to have Ambient Aware or TalkThru activated at the same time as Sidetone when the microphone is turned on during a call. This is the case no matter if you are using Bluetooth or the 2.4 GHz mode.
You can use Ambient Aware during a call if Sidetone is turned off. You are able to do this in both Bluetooth or the 2.4 GHz mode.
All three audio modes are activated if the microphone on your device is turned off no matter if you are using Bluetooth or the 2.4 GHz mode.
