Why you can't hear your teammates
Make sure JBL Quantum 800 is selected for PC.If you are connected to the PC via USB, check that the default device is selected under Control Panel --> Sound --> Playback.
Select JBL Quantum 800, right-click and "Set as default device".
Make sure the volume control on the headset is turned up. Rotate the volume wheel on your headset to increase the volume.
Check that your headset's GAME-CHAT balance dial and ensure that the balance is correct, you might refer to the screenshot below from the QuantumENGINE PC software.
If you still cannot hear the game or music audio, or if the volume is still very low, check if the TalkThrough is activated via the QuantumENGINE software.
Or you can turn it off by short pressing on the Smart Ambient button on the headset.

How to set up your microphone
Ensure that only one voice chat application is in use while in-game. Be sure you hear a click when the microphone is flipped down. The microphone will only function when it is flipped down fully. If you see a red LED on the microphone, it is muted.
How to check your PC settings for the correct recording device
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Select Hardware and Sound
3. Click on Sound
3 Select Recording
4. Make sure to select the proper recording device.
Right-click on it Quantum headset.
Now select "Set Default Device" or Select "Default Communication Device"
5. Check the microphone levels by right-click on your Quantum headset. Then click on Properties
6. Choose Levels.
7. Adjust accordingly.
Non-removable microphone featureWe've intentionally designed the flip-up boom mic to stay affixed to the headset. We know from experience that losing or breaking the detachable mic is never fun. Therefore, we designed the mic to fold neatly into the headset - this design also allows the mic to automatically mute when elevated. If you're wanting a detachable mic, please check out the Quantum 100 or the Quantum ONE.
How to switch between Game and Chat balance
Yes, you can adjust game and chat audio balance by rotating the dial up and down. When you rotate the dial, you will feel a notch that indicates the balance is 50% game and 50% chat. The slider on Quantum ONE is different, and has no notch, but instead a visual indicator.
How to switch between Active Noise Cancelling and TalkThruOnboard Active Noise Cancelling is controlled by the multi-function button on the rear of the left ear-cup. Switched on by default, you can SINGLE press the ANC button to toggle it On/Off and LONG press to active TalkThru. Turn on ANC again by a single press on the multi-function button.
How to use your Quantum wirelessly
It is offering low-latency wireless connectivity via a 2.4Ghz signal that is enabled by a USB dongle included in the box. Turn on the slider, then it automatically connect to the dongle. If you loss the connectivity with the dongle, power on with the slider and hold on for 5 seconds and press and hold the dongle to make sure the pairing until listening to the tone.
The volume level on my headphones is very quietIf your volume level is quiet, make sure that the TalkThru is not activated on your headphones. In order to deactivate or activate TalkThru, quickly press the ANC button located at the top of the LEFT ear cup. You will hear an audible voice stating, TalkThru On when activated, and 'ANC On' when deactivated.
How to clean your Quantum headphone
You can clean your headphones by wiping it gently with a damp cloth. Take extra care not to let water get into the speaker chamber, as it will damage the speaker drivers. If you need replacement ear pads, please reach out to your local JBL Customer Support to inquire about replacement parts.
How to connect a Bluetooth device
With a short press of the dedicated bluetooth button on the underside of the right ear cup, it powered on and enter to the pairing mode.
Can I use the JBL Quantum 800 in USB mode
The JBL Quantum 800 can only be used via 3.5mm, Bluetooth or 2.4GHz wireless connection.
Noise Cancelling feature not working while playing on PS4If you are having difficulty with the noise cancelling feature while on your PS4, please check your side tone setting in QuantumENGINE by connecting your Q800 to your PC. Please note that ANC will not work properly if the mic is on and sidetone is greater than 0. We recommend either muting the mic or change the sidetone in the JBL QuantumENGINE to 0.
Why are my headphones shown as “speakers” on Windows?
The “Speaker” mode allows the JBL QuantumENGINE to receive more than two channels of audio. It also prevents some applications from adding extra signal processing intended for other headphones, which would negatively impact the performance of the JBL QuantumSURROUND or JBL QuantumSPHERE 360 technology.
How to charge your Quantum headphone
The battery is charged using an included USB-A to USB-C USB fabric cable. It will be fully charged for 2 hrs. Note, this cable is only for charging the battery, it will not deliver audio.
Using the Quantum headset while charging
JBL is committed to providing the most optimal consumer experience through superior immersive audio. Our Quantum 800/600 headsets are designed to be connected via 2.4Ghz, BT ( 800 only ) or 3.5mm jack. USB-C port is only designed for charging the internal 14hr battery and does not provide an audio connection. This is an intentional design decision.
Preserving the Battery LifeTo increase battery life on your Quantum headphones, turn off your RGB lighting as this will help increase the wireless playback time. You can turn off the RGB in the QuantumENGINE or press and hold the mute button on the headset.

Does the Quantum headphone support the Mic monitoring feature?
Yes. You can configure the volume of the mic monitoring in JBL QuantumENGINE. And the default setting of the mic monitoring is set of “OFF”.
Microphone Sound or Distortion IssuesMake sure both the QuantumENGINE software and the headset's firmware is updated to the most recent version, and that the microphone is plugged all the way in.
Hearing the difference between Stereo and Surround SoundMake sure your headset is configured correctly in your Windows settings. The setting should normally be JBL Quantum *Game* to experience QuantumSURROUND.

No sound when playing or listening to music
Make sure the on headset volume control is turned up. Rotate the volume wheel on your headset to increase the volume. If you're connected to the PC via USB, check that the default device is selected under Control Panel > Sound > Playback. Select JBL Quantum 600 or Quantum 800 Game, right-click, and select "Set as Default Device". Check your headset's game-chat balance dial and ensure that the balance is correct. Check the JBL Quantum 600 or Quantum 800 Game device and make sure it is not muted or turned all the way down.

We wanted the name to reflect this futuristic inspiration married with cutting-edge technology. The Quantum name was ultimately chosen as it conjures images of both the technology aspect through the advances in quantum computing but also a very organic feel with reference to quantum physics and the science behind building upon small elements to make massive improvements.
How RBG lighting work for console games
JBL Quantum 400 and ONE are compatible with USB C to A cable to enjoy PS4 console with RGB Lighting on, and Quantum 600 and 800 with wireless-enabled by USB dongle also gives lighting moment on PS4 console games.
*NOTE that RGB will not light up when connecting with 3.5mm cable to any device (PC, Console, Mobile, etc.) because the cable doesn't have power enough for the RBG lighting.
How to avoid WiFi interference for your headphone
You might have a USB extension dock to get the JBL Quantum 600/800 dongle as much as close to the headset, or place the common sources of interference (e.g. routers, Wi-Fi speakers etc.) as much as far from the JBL Quantum 600/800 dongle.
How to update the headsetYou can update our Quantum 600 and 800 using the QuantumENGINE software on your PC.
To update the headset, go to SYSTEM SOFTWARE tab, find section HEADSET, and press CHECK FOR UPDATE and then INSTALL UPDATE.
What can you do with JBL QuantumENGINE software?You can adjust equalizer, RGB LED effects, change microphone settings and update the headset's firmware.
Mic Monitoring SupportYes. You can configure the volume of the mic monitoring in JBL QuantumENGINE. The default setting of the mic monitoring is "OFF”.
