Using the Quantum headset while charging
JBL is committed to providing the most optimal consumer experience through superior immersive audio. Our Quantum 800/600 headsets are designed to be connected via 2.4Ghz, BT ( 800 only ) or 3.5mm jack. USB-C port is only designed for charging the internal 14hr battery and does not provide an audio connection. This is an intentional design decision.

How to use your Quantum wirelessly
It is offering low-latency wireless connectivity via a 2.4Ghz signal that is enabled by a USB dongle included in the box. Turn on the slider, then it automatically connect to the dongle. If you loss the connectivity with the dongle, power on with the slider and hold on for 5 seconds and press and hold the dongle to make sure the pairing until listening to the tone. Was this helpful? Pairing Issues
Try a manual pairing of the headset and the dongle.
Hold the power button in the "On" position for 5 seconds on the headset, and then hold the button on the dongle for 5 seconds. This should force a manual pairing, allowing the PC to again recognize the headset.
Be sure to check multiple USB ports (to confirm it’s not an issue with the USB port).
If the dongle can’t be manually paired either, please contact customer support.

Preserving the Battery Life

How to update the headset
You can update our Quantum 600 and 800 using the QuantumENGINE software on your PC.

How to avoid WiFi interference for your headphone

How to clean your Quantum headphone
You can clean your headphones by wiping it gently with a damp cloth. Take extra care not to let water get into the speaker chamber, as it will damage the speaker drivers. Why are my headphones shown as “speakers” on Windows?
The “Speaker” mode allows the JBL QuantumENGINE to receive more than two channels of audio. It also prevents some applications from adding extra signal processing intended for other headphones, which would negatively impact the performance of the JBL QuantumSURROUND or JBL QuantumSPHERE 360 technology.

Xbox Information
All JBL Quantum headset models work only through 3.5mm audio jack (aux) connected to the Xbox controller. You cannot connect to any Xbox Series console via Bluetooth.

How RBG lighting work for console games
JBL Quantum 400 and ONE are compatible with USB C to A cable to enjoy PS4 console with RGB Lighting on, and Quantum 600 and 800 with wireless-enabled by USB dongle also gives lighting moment on PS4 console games.

No sound when playing or listening to music
Make sure the on headset volume control is turned up. Rotate the volume wheel on your headset to increase the volume. If you're connected to the PC via USB, check that the default device is selected under Control Panel > Sound > Playback. Select JBL Quantum 600 or Quantum 800 Game, right-click, and select "Set as Default Device". Check your headset's game-chat balance dial and ensure that the balance is correct. Check the JBL Quantum 600 or Quantum 800 Game device and make sure it is not muted or turned all the way down.

PlayStation Information
The compatibility for JBL Quantum models on PlayStation 5 is the same as it is for PlayStation 4 models.
All JBL Quantum headset models work through 3.5mm audio jack (aux) connected to the PlayStation controller. USB models will also work on PlayStation. In addition, the wireless models works wirelessly when connected to the 2.4GHz USB dongle.

Non-removable microphone feature
We've intentionally designed the flip-up boom mic to stay affixed to the headset. We know from experience that losing or breaking the detachable mic is never fun. Therefore, we designed the mic to fold neatly into the headset - this design also allows the mic to automatically mute when elevated. How to set up your microphone
Ensure that only one voice chat application is in use while in-game. Be sure you hear a click when the microphone is flipped down. The microphone will only function when it is flipped down fully. If you see a red LED on the microphone, it is muted.
How to check your PC settings for the correct recording device
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Select Hardware and Sound
3. Click on Sound

How to switch between Game and Chat balance
Yes, you can adjust game and chat audio balance by rotating the dial up and down. When you rotate the dial, you will feel a notch that indicates the balance is 50% game and 50% chat. Why you can't hear your teammates
Make sure JBL Quantum 800 is selected for PC.
If you are connected to the PC via USB, check that the default device is selected under Control Panel --> Sound --> Playback./>
Select JBL Quantum 800, right-click and "Set as default device".
Make sure the volume control on the headset is turned up. Rotate the volume wheel on your headset to increase the volume.
Check that your headset's GAME-CHAT balance dial and ensure that the balance is correct, you might refer to the screenshot below from the QuantumENGINE PC software.
If you still cannot hear the game or music audio, or if the volume is still very low, check if the TalkThrough is activated via the QuantumENGINE software.
Or you can turn it off by short pressing on the Smart Ambient button on the headset.
