FAQs & How-Tos

14 results
  • You can connect up to 3 Bluetooth devices at the same time. In case you are listening to music via Bluetooth, each device will override the other when a command (play) is selected.
  • You can only share the sound via JBL Connect through Bluetooth connected devices. TV sound is not permitted as it would cause lip-sync issues.
  • The soundbar passes through content from a 4K video source but does not upscale video to 4K.
  • The SB450 soundbar is paired to the subwoofer right out of the box. If the 2 parts are not already paired together, simply press the Pairing buttons on the rear panel of both products and they will connect with each other.
  • Every TV is different, but most current TVs will let you turn off your internal TV speakers in the Settings menu under the Audio section.
  • Yes, the SB 450 supports the JBL Connect feature but only to stream audio through Bluetooth. Please note, the JBL Portable app will not work with this speaker, nor will it support stereo music playback when linking two SB 450s together.
  • The JBL Cinema SB450 can be reset to its default factory settings and erasing all programming. To reset the soundbar, press and hold Volume+ and Virtual Surround buttons for 5s.
  • It is usually not necessary to replace an unresponsive remote control. First, check to see if there is a small plastic tab extending out of the base of the remote control. This is a protective sleeve installed on new remote controls to prevent the battery from draining. Pull this tab to remove the plastic sleeve. The sleeve must be removed before the remote will operate. If the sleeve was removed or not present and the remote control is not working then a new battery should be installed before replacing the remote control. There is a small slide out drawer that houses the battery. The battery type will be either CR2025 or CR2032 for remotes of this size. Replacement batteries are commonly available from most electronic and convenience stores that sell small batteries. Check the number on the original battery and replace it with a battery that uses the same number. These steps will typically solve the problem.
  • As explained in our Owner's manual, it will adjust the sound to match the placement of your Soundbar, wall or table. When against a wall, the sound reflection will be different than when on a table. This button adjusts the tonal quality to give you the best audio results in either setup.
  • This is due to your HDMI cables. All cables attached to the HDMI inputs of the SB450, needs to be High speed cables. If your cables do not meet these requirement, then you will experience unstable connection from source to your TV.
