My device is waterproof, but what about salt water or chlorine water?
Your JBL speaker is waterproof with IPX7 rating. (IPX7 means it can survive immersion in 1 meter/3.3 feet for up to 30 minutes.) To maintain the looks and functions of your speaker, please make sure to rinse it with fresh water after using it at a swimming pool or the ocean, then dry off all covers and areas where water can gather. The standard for waterproofing is for tap water. Chemicals and salt in your pool or the ocean can damage the waterproof seals or harm the surface finish over time if not rinsed off after use.

This unit is IPX7 rated, which means that you can submerge the unit in water as deep as 3 feet (1 meter) for up to 30 minutes.

Does Connect plus work with an analog input or from PC?
No, Connect+ is only supported on Bluetooth from mobile devices on which the JBL/HK Connect+ App can be installed.

What can I do with the Connect app?
It is possible to rename the Bluetooth name of the primary connected device and set the Party or Stereo mode. If a firmware upgrade is available for any Connect or Connect+ compatible speaker, this can be installed through the app. Only identical products can be set to stereo mode. Please note that, even though you can pair a Boost TV with JBL Connect, you cannot control this from the JBL Connect App

How many smartphones or tablets can connect to my speaker?
You can connect 2 smart devices ( iOS or Android ) simultaneously by Bluetooth. One when connecting via AUX cable.

Do the Flip 4 and Charge 3 float in water?
No, the IP waterproof specification means that these speakers can be immersed in water 1 m deep for 30 minutes. It does not mean that they can float, so please be careful. If dropped, they will sink to the bottom.

PartyBoost support on the JBL Connect and JBL Connect+
The new PartyBoost does not support the previous Connect and Connect+ features. For example: You will not be able to successfully connect the new PartyBoost enabled Flip 5 with a Connect+ enabled speaker like the Pulse 3 or Flip 4. You will not be able to connect the Boombox 2 to the original Boombox speaker.

Sound Distortion After Immersing Speaker in Water

Can I wirelessly link JBL Flip 4 together with JBL Flip 3, Pulse 2 or Xtreme?
No, JBL Flip 4 can wirelessly link with JBL Connect+ compatible speakers only. Currently, the Flip 4, Pulse 3 and Charge 3 ( after a firmware upgrade ) have the JBL Connect+ feature

Can I set Flip 4 speakers to Stereo mode when they connect together?
Yes, from within the JBL Connect App, when you have 2 Flip 4 speakers connected, set them in Stereo Mode. When you add a 3rd ( or more ) Flip 4 speakers, they will automatically revert back to Party mode

How to reset Flip 4
In power ON mode press and hold the "Volume +" and "Play" buttons at the same time for more than 3 seconds -> Unit will power Off by itself. Now the unit is reset to factory default.
