There is a Wi-Fi indicator on the back of the main speaker, and when it turns amber, it indicates that the Wi-Fi signal is weak. Yes, the cable has a one-button remote control and a microphone. This means that you can pause, resume play, you can pick up the phone and stop a call, and talk to other people through the microphone. There is no option to control music volume on the cable remote. With the release of v.3.0 of the JBL Music app, owners of the JBL Authentics L8 and L16 are now greeted with a message that an update is available. If you own one of these speaker systems, and you know that it already supports Spotify Connect, the update firmware is already installed, and you can ignore this message. If your speaker system does not already support Spotify Connect, the update is available for you, but you cannot perform it yourself, it must go to a service center to be updated.
