  • Smart TV Compatibility
It is always recommended to use our range of Soundbars, such as the JBL Bar series - if you want a speaker for your Television or Smart TV as they are designed specifically for this use, whereas our Portable speakers are designed primarily for use with Phones and Tablets.

Portable speakers with an Aux-in port, such as the Xtreme 3 and Boombox 3 - if connected through an Aux cable, should have less issues compared to using Bluetooth, however there can be issues with audio/video synchronization if used for this purpose.

Support for Bluetooth connectivity between a TV and speaker depends on a number of different factors such as Bluetooth & A2DP versions and Audio Codecs used by each device. This can vary based on the brand, model and age of the devices, however we cannot confirm if any specific combination of TV and speaker will work without issues such as latency or lip sync delay.
I have connected my speaker using the Device Utility app, but the Google Home app cannot find the speaker. What should I do?
Close and restart the Google Home app, or restart your phone. Start the Google Home app again, and the speaker should now appear.

When trying to set up my speaker with the Google Home app, I get a message that says “Device needs to be activated before setup”. How do I proceed?
If you see this message, you must download the Device Utility app from the Google Play Store. Follow the instructions in the app to activate your speaker, and then return to the Google Home app to complete the setup.

I am trying to use Chromecast, but it is not working after the setup.
To use Chromecast, you must continue the setup in the Google Home app first.
Configuring the speaker only with Apple WAC will not enable the Chromecast feature.
For this to happen, you must sign-in with your Google account.

You can quickly try out the Chromecast feature, and if you do not like it, reset your Citation or LINK speaker, and redo the configuration part on your Apple device.

  • Buttons unresponsive when plugged into a power source
If the buttons on your portable speaker are not working properly or are unresponsive while plugged into a power source, please try running the speaker on battery. If the buttons perform correctly while running on battery, this means your power supply is not providing enough current/amps. Be sure to use a power supply that has a rating equal to or greater than the amperage rating indicated in your product specs.

  • Does the JBL LINK 10, 20, 300 or 500 record all my conversations?
No, the JBL LINK speaker does not store any conversations, it listens only for a few seconds and then deletes the file. Only when using "OK, Google" or "Hey, Google" will it start recording your question so Google Assistant to fulfill your request. You can always delete all your recordings via "My activity" settings under your Google Account.
How will I know if the JBL LINK 10, 20, 300 or 500 reacted to my voice?
The 4 LED's on the front of the unit will light up.
How can I update my LINK 10, LINK 20, LINK 300 and LINK 500 speaker?
All updates will happen over-the-air, meaning that your device just needs to be connected via your Wi-Fi network with at least 30% battery and plugged into the charger, then it will update during the night if there are any new updates available.
I have trouble connecting my LINK 10, 20, 300 or 500 speakers to my Wi-Fi using an Android device.
When using an Android device, you need to have location service active on your phone or tablet and make sure that you allowed "Google Home app" to use the phone or tablet location service. However, make sure your Wi-Fi router has UPnP enabled and that you do not use any network extenders while connecting the product.

My LINK 10 or LINK 20 was lost. Can another person steal my information?
No, since the speaker does not store any information locally. To remove all settings from your stolen device, simply unlink the speaker from your account, and the next time the speaker goes online it will not connect to your account. However, if you have used the command ""Remember this"" feature, please beware of sensitive information, as the speaker will inform you of whatever you have asked it to remember. But after unlinking the speaker, it will forget.
    Charging the Speaker When Wet
You will need to dry the charging port completely before plugging in power for charging.
