Pairing issues with a Computer or PC
In most cases when a Computer/PC/Laptop has issues connecting to a Bluetooth device (Portable speaker, Headphones, Active speakers), it's caused by your Computer/PC/Laptop's Bluetooth driver (software).

The driver (software) should support the following Bluetooth protocols, to be able to play music/sound from your Computer/PC/Laptop:

    • A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) driver for your Computer/PC/Headphones to transfer music.

    • AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) driver to send skip/forward/pause/play music to your device

Always get the latest driver version available for your Computer/PC/Laptop.

To download the correct driver (software), visit the manufacturer's website of your Computer/PC/Laptop. They usually have a "Support/Download" section where you can find the correct driver. Otherwise, we advise you to contact their support.

This speaker does not have an Aux Input, so no analog connection is possible.
    Smart TV Compatibility
It is always recommended to use our range of Soundbars, such as the JBL Bar series - if you want a speaker for your Television or Smart TV as they are designed specifically for this use, whereas our Portable speakers are designed primarily for use with Phones and Tablets.

Portable speakers with an Aux-in port, such as the Xtreme 3 and Boombox 3 - if connected through an Aux cable, should have less issues compared to using Bluetooth, however there can be issues with audio/video synchronization if used for this purpose.

Support for Bluetooth connectivity between a TV and speaker depends on a number of different factors such as Bluetooth & A2DP versions and Audio Codecs used by each device. This can vary based on the brand, model and age of the devices, however we cannot confirm if any specific combination of TV and speaker will work without issues such as latency or lip sync delay.
    Connect Feature Information
This product is not supported by Connect + or Partyboost on the JBL Portable app. They cannot connect to other portable speakers wirelessly.
My device is waterproof, but what about salt water or chlorine water?
Your JBL speaker is waterproof with IPX7 rating. (IPX7 means it can survive immersion in 1 meter/3.3 feet for up to 30 minutes.) To maintain the looks and functions of your speaker, please make sure to rinse it with fresh water after using it at a swimming pool or the ocean, then dry off all covers and areas where water can gather. The standard for waterproofing is for tap water. Chemicals and salt in your pool or the ocean can damage the waterproof seals or harm the surface finish over time if not rinsed off after use.

It is possible to pair two of the same model of JBL PartyBox speakers together through TWS (True Wireless Stereo) mode.

    PartyBox On-The-Go/100:
Connect just the left PartyBox with the chosen device first, with the right PartyBox turned off. The speaker that is connected first will automatically be the left channel. Now turn the right PartyBox on and continue with TWS pairing (detailed below).

    PartyBox 200/300/1000:
A button (L/R) on the rear of the speakers is used to assign the correct channel to the speakers after pairing is made.
In order to activate TWS mode, press and hold the Bluetooth button on the first speaker until the notification chime sounds, about 5 seconds. • Functionality of Bass/Treble/Echo Buttons
The Bass, Treble and Echo buttons on the control panel on top of the Partybox only applies these EQs/effect to the Microphone inputs on the rear of the speaker - for Karaoke use. The EQs and Echo effect cannot be applied to other sources or inputs such as Bluetooth, Aux or USB.

If more bass is desired, there is a Bass Boost button on the top control panel (with 2 levels of Bass Boost: Off, Level 1 & Level 2, switched through pressing the button multiple times). This will be applied to the sources and inputs mentioned above (but not the microphone inputs).

    Wireless Microphone Information

The JBL Wireless Microphone set allows 2 x wireless microphones* to be connected to any Partybox model through the use of a dongle connected to the Mic/Guitar jack input. Additionally, a 3rd wired microphone - like the JBL PBM100 Wired Microphone, can also be connected to the switchable Guitar/Mic 2 input (available on the Partybox 310 & 710). This will also work when using the non-switchable Guitar input on other Partybox models - however, this will bypass the karaoke effects including echo for the connected microphone and would generally have a slightly different sound character/timbre to a microphone connected to the Microphone input.

*This includes the Partybox On-The-Go, a maximum of 2 wireless microphones can be connected and used simultaneously. The standard bundled Partybox On-The-Go microphone can only be connected to the Partybox On-The-Go that it came bundled with, it also cannot connect wirelessly to any other Partybox models or portable speakers other than the Partybox On-The-Go that it came bundled with. Only one standard, bundled Partybox On-The-Go wireless microphone can be connected at a time, unless the JBL Wireless Microphone is purchased (sold separately), a spare part will only work as a replacement, not simultaneously.

If you connect an instrument or microphone to one Partybox speaker while using TWS, the instrument or microphone connected to one speaker will be reproduced by this speaker alone. You will not hear the instrument or microphone in both speakers. If it is necessary to have instruments reproduced by two or more PartyBox speakers, it is possible to use an RCA or aux cable – connected from the RCA, aux or daisy chain outputs on the speaker that the instrument or microphone is connected to, wired to the RCA, aux or daisy chain input of the secondary speaker. Alternatively a small mixing console can be used - connecting audio sources to this mixer and sending the mixed audio signal to the speakers with a wired connection.

  • How it works when docked and connected to the harness, when undocked & portable
When docked and connected to the harness, the BASSPRO GO can be used as a powered subwoofer or a full-range car audio speaker.  It receives it’s audio source from the head unit via the wiring harness and it’s power from the car battery.  Bluetooth is not active.

When undocked/portable and removed from the harness, it can no longer be used as a powered sub.  It is strictly a full-range portable Bluetooth speaker system.  It receives it’s audio source from the Bluetooth input only, and receives it’s power from the internal battery.

BASSPRO GO: Installation, wiring, menu, gain and switching configurations
Installation of a powered subwoofer/speaker in an automobile requires specific knowledge and experience.  If you’ve read the manual and do not feel comfortable performing the installation and setup yourself, we recommend that installation be carried out at a specialized center by a professional.

    BASSPRO GO: Charging/Power
The BASSPRO GO receives is power ONLY from the harness that is connected to the car battery.  When connected to the harness, the car battery will charge the internal battery so that it is ready to be used as a portable the next time you need it.

When removed from the harness, the full-range portable speaker runs on the internal battery.  It cannot be charged via either of the USB (A or C) jacks.  It will be charged the next time it is connected to the harness in the vehicle.

    BASSPRO GO: Connect Feature
The BASSPRO GO uses the original Connect feature.  It is not compatible with devices using the Connect+ or PartyBoost feature.  You can connect up to two BASSPRO GO speakers to each other using Connect, or you can connect a single BASSPRO GO to other JBL speakers that have the same Connect feature, like the Xtreme, Charge 3, Flip 3, and Pulse 2.

  • PartyBoost support on the JBL Connect and JBL Connect+

The new PartyBoost does not support the previous Connect and Connect+ features. For example: You will not be able to successfully connect the new PartyBoost enabled Flip 5 with a Connect+ enabled speaker like the Pulse 3 or Flip 4. You will not be able to connect the Boombox 2 to the original Boombox speaker.

When I connect my JBL speaker with a computer (PC/Laptop/Apple Mac/Nintendo Switch), can I use the PartyBoost feature?
The PartyBoost feature is not available when your JBL speaker is connected to a computer via Bluetooth. This is a technical limitation. When connected to a computer, the computer is acting as the primary device. Therefore, the JBL speaker does not have control of re-transmitting the Bluetooth signal to other JBL speakers.

NOTE: Speakers effected by this are the JBL Flip 5, JBL Flip 6, JBL Charge 5, JBL Pulse 4, JBL Xtreme 3, and JBL Boombox 2, as well as all future products featuring the PartyBoost feature.
Issues with the JBL Portable App and your Android device
There might be several reasons that our Portable app may not be working correctly on your Android device. First, your Android device must have 5.0 OS (Operating system) or higher to support JBL Connect app. Devices under 5.0 OS will not be supported. If you are having trouble viewing your JBL Portable device in the app, please disable Bluetooth, and then turn it back on again. Now you should be able to see your device in the JBL Portable app.
    Charging the Speaker When Wet
You will need to dry the charging port completely before plugging in power for charging.

What is the difference between JBL Go 3/Clip 4 and JBL Go 3 ECO/Clip 4 ECO?

The difference is that the new ECO versions of Go 3 and Clip 4 are made from 90% PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic and wrapped in 100% recycled fabric on the speaker grille, while still delivering the same rich JBL Original Pro Sound and significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the product.
