There is a Wi-Fi indicator on the back of the main speaker, and when it turns amber, it indicates that the Wi-Fi signal is weak. Yes, the cable has a one-button remote control and a microphone. This means that you can pause, resume play, you can pick up the phone and stop a call, and talk to other people through the microphone. There is no option to control music volume on the cable remote.
