FAQs & How-Tos

  • The headphones can pair to multiple devices but can only be connected to one device at a time.
  • The JBL Endurance SPRINT, JUMP and DIVE can be used in salt water (i.e. sea) but we recommend to thoroughly wash the headphones in fresh water after every use in salt water, to remove the salt residue. Please note that only DIVE can actually be used in water, because it features a function lock and a built-in memory for MP3 music files. SPRINT and JUMP cannot be used in water, because the touch buttons will malfunction when submerged, and Bluetooth cannot function at all under water.
  • Because bluetooth cannot travel through water, the only Endurance model that is used for swimming is the Endurance DIVE model. The Endurance DIVE model features an MP3 player which allows you to listen to music under water without using bluetooth. Furthermore, only DIVE features a function lock, which prevents water from activating functions inadvertently. SPRINT and JUMP do not have this lock function, and will not work under water.
  • No. Bluetooth does not work under water. The Endurance DIVE however has a built-in MP3 player for music, and is IPX7 waterproof. This means you can use the headphones submerged to 1 meter depth, up to 30 minutes at a time. Also note that for normal swimming, you won't be submerged all the time, so the headphones should be waterproof for the duration of your swim.
  • Here is how to add music to the Dive Headphones: 1. Place the MP3 music files that you want to transfer to the Dive headphones on your computer, where you can find them again. The sequence is not important, they will be played in alphanumerical sequence. If you want to have a special sequence to your tracks, you can add a number as the first file name. 2. Connect the Dive to your computer with the USB cable. Please use the cable that came with the headphones, since other USB cables may be wired for charging only, and may not work. 3. Your Dive will now pop up in your explorer folder overview as a new drive. Total capacity is about 991 MB. 4. Now you simply drag-and-drop the MP3 files from their location onto the Dive, or you mark the files, copy them and paste them onto the Dive. Do not use folders of any kind, and do not try to place other file types on the Dive's memory. MP3 files with a resolution of 320 kbits/second is maximum quality possible. Please note that the owner's manual contains an error about random play, stating that MP3 play will always be done in random sequence. Unfortunately, this is an error. All replay of MP3 files from the internal memory is alphanumerical, NOT random. As mentioned above, you can add a number to the track title, and the tracks will be played in numerical order, until no more numbers are present, after which replay is in alphabetical order.
  • With the IPX7 rating, you can use them in water down to a depth of one meter, for maximum 30 minutes.
  • Tap once on the JBL logo of the right earbud, then place your finger on the logo again, and hold it there for 5 seconds. You will hear a confirmation tone in the headphones when locking takes place. To unlock, close the power hook.
  • For all models except Endurance Peak:
Press the headphone touch control located on the RIGHT ear loop for 15 seconds while the headphones are being charged.
Note that resetting the Dive will not erase music contained in the MP3 memory.

Endurance Peak reset: While the pods are being charged, tap the touch pad on the right pod once, then tap again and hold for approx 18 seconds, or until the LED blinks.

  • You can listen up to 8 hours of MP3 music, with a fully charged battery, depending on volume and type of music
  • In most cases when a Computer/PC/Laptop has issues connecting to a Bluetooth device (Portable speaker, Headphones, Active speakers), it's caused by your Computer/PC/Laptop's Bluetooth driver (software).

The driver (software) should support the following Bluetooth protocols, to be able to play music/sound from your Computer/PC/Laptop:

    • A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) driver for your Computer/PC/Headphones to transfer music.

    • AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) driver to send skip/forward/pause/play music to your device

Always get the latest driver version available for your Computer/PC/Laptop.

To download the correct driver (software), visit the manufacturer's website of your Computer/PC/Laptop. They usually have a "Support/Download" section where you can find the correct driver. Otherwise, we advise you to contact their support.

The standard drivers provided by Microsoft/Windows system are not correct and will result in error messages (such as having to enter a PIN code), or pairing will not work.
