  • To install your JBL LINK speaker using Apple iOS... 1. Download the Google Home app. 2. Activate your Bluetooth connection, as it is required for Apple devices. 3. Follow the instructions in the Google Home app.
  • Sounds like your JBL LINK 10 or LINK 20 has been connected to another Wi-Fi network. It is very simple to reconnect to your Wi-Fi by using the Google Home app. Simply select your Wi-Fi in the app, and you're all set. All information about the speaker and voice teaching is stored in the Cloud, so you do not have to do this again.
  • We are sorry about this problem. EuP regulations require that electronics go into full off after some time. Unfortunately, this means that the soundbar cannot be woken up again after half an hour. It is necessary to use the ON/OFF switch.

  • No, your subwoofer is not defective at all! This is normal and by design of the product after it has been paired for a longer period of time.
  • There will be times that the LEFT ear will disconnect from the RIGHT or (primary) earbud. To get the Left ear to reconnect, make sure that the RIGHT earbud is on and emitting sound. Take the LEFT ear out of the charging case and put in ear. Press and hold down the power button on the LEFT ear bud for 5-8 seconds. You should hear the power on chime and then both ear buds should emit sound now.
  • No, since the speaker does not store any information locally. To remove all settings from your stolen device, simply unlink the speaker from your account, and the next time the speaker goes online it will not connect to your account. However, if you have used the command ""Remember this"" feature, please beware of sensitive information, as the speaker will inform you of whatever you have asked it to remember. But after unlinking the speaker, it will forget.
  • It is usually not necessary to replace an unresponsive remote control. First, check to see if there is a small plastic tab extending out of the base of the remote control. This is a protective sleeve installed on new remote controls to prevent the battery from draining. Pull this tab to remove the plastic sleeve. The sleeve must be removed before the remote will operate. If the sleeve was removed or not present and the remote control is not working then a new battery should be installed before replacing the remote control. There is a small slide out drawer that houses the battery. The battery type will be either CR2025 or CR2032 for remotes of this size. Replacement batteries are commonly available from most electronic and convenience stores that sell small batteries. Check the number on the original battery and replace it with a battery that uses the same number. These steps will typically solve the problem.
  • This can be caused by dirt and dust accumulating on the charging arm, which can reduce the effectiveness of the adhesive. Clean the surface of the charging arm with a wet cloth or alcohol wipes. Do not use paper towels as these can leave paper debris.
  • There are two ways to blow speakers. The first is the one we all know and understand. If you pump 500 watts into a speaker that is only rated at 100 watts, kaboom, it blows up. As a result, very few of us do this. So then why are all of these poor, helpless speakers blowing up? Because of the second reason, under-powering. It's really a misleading term, but let's try to explain. First let's take it to the maximum. Example: You have a 1000 watt speaker and a 100 watt amplifier. The way you like to listen to music requires 300 watts. Typically, you will ask your amp to put out that 300 watts that you want to hear. The amp will do it, but it will clip and distort. Unfortunately, the human ear can't hear distortion until it reaches almost 10%. By that time it's usually too late. The speaker keeps trying to reproduce this distortion that it's not capable or reproducing and eventually it blows (usually the tweeter fails first). If you are blowing speakers with an amp that has a power rating lower than your speakers, you are pushing your amp too far, causing it to clip, and blowing speakers. If you are pushing your system too hard, it is suggested that you realize your systems limitations or recommend that you get a more powerful amplifier. Please realize, if you only buy speakers that will handle more power and not a more powerful amplifier, you won't solve the problem. The speakers will still blow, because it is distortion that is blowing them, not too much power.
  • Our Control X Wireless speaker has two different patterns for switching on, when using either battery or AC power. When using battery, turning on one speaker in either stereo mode or association mode (4 speakers connected), all will turn on simultaneously, no matter which is primary or secondary. When connected to AC power, switch on the primary speaker in stereo or associated mode, and the secondary speakers will follow. If you have associated speakers stereo or 4 speakers connected, then you have to press primary speaker's power button for more than 2 seconds, then the primary will send signal to secondaries, and they will wake up. It takes approx. 30-60 seconds before all are switched on. If your press it too short (less than 2 seconds), the primary speaker will not "pair" the secondary speakers together. Switch off the primary and start over again.
  • Some mobile phones, tablet computers or laptop computers will react to the powerful magnetic field from the loudspeaker drive units that are right beneath the top panel. Some have magnetic sensors built in, which means that covers with magnets in the lid can turn the phone ON when the cover lid is opened, and turn it OFF again when the lid is closed. Such phones may turn off if placed on certain portions of the top panel. Other devices are simply sensitive to magnetic fields. You can move the device around on the top of your L8 or L16 speaker, to check if some locations are better than others. The magnetic fields are most powerful near the front panel, where the speaker units are mounted. If you cannot find a location which works, your particular phone, tablet or laptop cannot be used while resting on the top panel of your speaker. There are no reports of damage to any devices because of this phenomenon.
  • This is most likely due to CEC function. Some our soundbars supports CEC commands from your TV, and if some CEC commands will make the speaker react in a way you do not like, we suggest you disable all CEC functions from your TV. Please note, that your Soundbar will not turn on when your TV is turned on, due to disabling the CEC function.
  • When you are installing new apps or adding content to your LINK BAR, the system may be a bit slower when dealing with multiple things.
Here is a couple of things you should know.
    1. You need a speedy internet connection to download all the content you added.
    2. Wait for everything to be finished, then you can enjoy the system without any issues.
    3. Reboot LINK BAR after installing all apps. A fresh reboot can help and enhance performance.
  • If you find yourself encountering audio dropouts or interference coming from your surround speakers when they are not docked on the main unit, here are a couple of tips to try to remedy that.

    1. Try moving any wireless routers that are near the sound bar further away.

    2. Reboot router so it can auto select a new frequency channel, since the sound bar and router may be on the same channel resulting in audible interferences

    3. Re-position the surround speakers so they are closer to the main unit.

    4. Re-calibrate the surround speakers

    5. Adjust the volume on the sound bar and gradually raise the volume, if driven to hard the sound bar speakers can distort

  • If you are having difficulty with the noise cancelling feature while on your PS4, please check your side tone setting in QuantumENGINE by connecting your Q800 to your PC. Please note that ANC will not work properly if the mic is on and sidetone is greater than 0. We recommend either muting the mic or change the sidetone in the JBL QuantumENGINE to 0.
  • We've intentionally designed the flip-up boom mic to stay affixed to the headset. We know from experience that losing or breaking the detachable mic is never fun. Therefore, we designed the mic to fold neatly into the headset - this design also allows the mic to automatically mute when elevated. If you're wanting a detachable mic, please check out the Quantum 100 or the Quantum ONE.
  • Make sure the headset volume control is turned up. Rotate the volume wheel on your headset to increase the volume. Check that the correct playback device is selected under Control Panel > Sound > Playback. Select the correct device, right-click, and select "Set as Default Device". Check the computer volume levels and make sure it is not muted or turned all the way down.
  • Make sure the headset volume control is turned up. Rotate the volume wheel on your headset to increase the volume. If you're using the USB dongle, check that the correct playback device is selected under Control Panel > Sound > Playback. Select the proper playback device, right-click, and select "Set as Default Device". Check the computer volume levels and make sure it is not muted or turned all the way down.

  • Ensure that the correct device is selected as the default device under Control Panel>Sound>Playback. Make sure the on headset volume control is turned up. Rotate the volume wheel on your headset to increase the volume. Check that the correct playback device is selected under Control Panel > Sound > Playback. Select the correct device, right-click, and select "Set as Default Device". Check the computer volume levels and make sure it is not muted or turned all the way down.
  • Make sure the volume control on the headset is turned up. Rotate the volume wheel on your headset to increase the volume. If you're connected to the PC via USB, check that the default device is selected under Control Panel > Sound > Playback. Select JBL Quantum 600 or Quantum 800 Game, right-click, and select "Set as Default Device". Check your headset's game-chat balance dial and ensure that the balance is correct. Check the JBL Quantum 600 or Quantum 800 Game device and make sure it is not muted or turned all the way down.

  • The JBL Xtreme will no longer appear in the JBL Portable app while using Apple devices with iOS 14 or later installed, due to incompatibility.
You can continue to use the speaker as normal with these devices through Bluetooth or Aux connection, but it will no longer appear in the app.
There are currently no plans to release a new Firmware as the JBL Xtreme has been discontinued.
  • Let's see what we can try to do to solve your problem.
    1. Check if the Privicy-Switch button is OFF (the MUTE button on the LINK BAR).
    2. Go to the settings menu, “Device preference --> Google,” check “OK Google” detection is enabled.
    3. Make sure there is no objects place on top of the LINK BAR which may block the microphones.
  • Every person has different preferences for wall mounting products. Nevertheless, we tried out varies options and found this to be the place for optimal sound performance.
    1. Use the included "Wall-mount guide" that came with your LINK BAR.
    2. From the down edge of your TV screen, measure 50mm (using the guide for the screws) or 5 cm or 2 inches depending on the country.
    3. It will perfectly align the LINK BAR close to your TV and give the best performance.
Also, you won't have to deal with HDMI cables being too short!

These are our recommendation if you want to place it further down, be our guest!
The sound and performance will still be magnificent!
  • To power on and pair the headphones, remove the ear tips from the charging case. If this is your first time using the headphones, they will automatically go into pairing mode. You will see the blue and red LED light flash on the RIGHT and LEFT ear as it attempts to pair with your device. Make sure your device is in range and BT settings are ON. The JBL True Wireless Flash X should pop up on your list of discoverable devices within 3-5 seconds, tap and connect. Once connected, you will see a slow blinking blue light below the UA logo on the RIGHT and LEFT Ear. This headphone allows you to use the ear tips in Stereo or Mono mode. If you wish to just use the LEFT or RIGHT ear, simply place the ear tip you do not wish to use back in the charging case.
  • Try a manual pairing of the headset and the dongle.
Hold the power button in the "On" position for 5 seconds on the headset, and then hold the button on the dongle for 5 seconds. This should force a manual pairing, allowing the PC to again recognize the headset.
Be sure to check multiple USB ports (to confirm it’s not an issue with the USB port).
If the dongle can’t be manually paired either, please contact customer support.

  • First time you perform the pairing, it can take several minutes to establish connection. If more than five minutes go by with no result, please switch both units OFF and ON again.
  • If the two buds lose connection to each other, you can choose to force-pair the main/right bud to the secondary/left bud or the other way around.
For both buds, triple-click the button on one ear bud to pair with the other ear bud.
  • If you create a Stereo Pair using the JBL Portable App and you come within range of additional PartyBoost compatible speakers while they are ON, the app will find these speakers. This will break the stereo pair and create a mono PartyBoost group that includes all active speakers that are in proximity. This only happens when the JBL Portable App is actively running on the source device, including when it is running in the background, and when these other speakers are ON. To avoid this scenario, make sure the app is completely closed, without running in the background before coming near any additional PartyBoost speakers that happen to be ON.

NOTE: The Portable App does not need to be running in order to enjoy Stereo sound from two speakers

  • If you are experiencing sound fading in and out (pumping) or volume levels changing while playing your instrument, this is known as limiting. The sound being sent into the PARTYBOX may be too loud which will cause the limiter in the speaker to kick in. This can cause the volume levels to dip. This is done to protect the speaker from playing louder than it’s rated output, and it likely means that the instrument input level on the PARTYBOX is set too high. Please perform these steps to calibrate your input level and to prevent pumping:

    1.  While music is playing via BT or line input, set the volume on the PARTYBOX to a comfortable listening level.
    2. Stop playing the music.
    3. Turn the instrument/guitar input volume on the PARTYBOX all the way down.
    4. Connect the instrument to the instrument/guitar input on the PARTYBOX.
    5. Set the volume on your instrument to max.
    6. Start playing the instrument and begin turning the instrument/guitar volume on the PARTYBOX up. The instrument should sound perfectly normal without any pumping or swelling. Continue to turn up the volume until you start to notice pumping or swelling. When you hear this, turn the volume back down a little bit until the pumping completely stops. You have now calibrated the input level for that instrument. During this step, as you are turning up, if it gets too loud, turn down the main volume on the PARTYBOX to a comfortable level, and then continue.

You should now use the main volume on the PARTYBOX to set the loudest volume for your instrument and can use the volume control on your instrument to adjust the level up or down.

NOTE: Whenever connecting a different instrument, you will likely have to repeat this process as all instruments (guitar pickups) have slightly different output levels. This is how you can ensure maximum performance out of your PARTYBOX.

    Software Update Release Notes
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Version:  1.35.0
    Release Date:  September 19, 2022
Release Media:  OTA (over the air) Automatic Upgrade

    What's New
Added the device analytics function.  Now users can share data regarding how they are using the product.
  • What’s New:
The new Software version will enable Party mode across PartyBox 310 & PartyBox 110 series.
Stereo mode will still only work when 2 PartyBoxes of the same model are connected.
  • It is possible to pair two of the same model of JBL PartyBox speakers together through TWS (True Wireless Stereo) mode.

    PartyBox On-The-Go/100:
Connect just the left PartyBox with the chosen device first, with the right PartyBox turned off. The speaker that is connected first will automatically be the left channel. Now turn the right PartyBox on and continue with TWS pairing (detailed below).

    PartyBox 200/300/1000:
A button (L/R) on the rear of the speakers is used to assign the correct channel to the speakers after pairing is made.
In order to activate TWS mode, press and hold the Bluetooth button on the first speaker until the notification chime sounds, about 5 seconds. Then press and hold the Bluetooth button on the second speaker until the notification chime sounds (as seen below). TWS mode is now activated. To disable TWS, press and hold the Bluetooth button on either speaker, or power off one speaker.
    PBTWS1new.png
    Partybox 110/310/710/Encore/Essential:
Press the buttons labelled TWS on both speakers to connect the speakers in TWS mode (pictured in item 2 in the image below, with two speakers on the button).
    PBTWS2.png
TWS can be activated and deactivated remotely in the JBL Partybox app, in addition to assigning the left and right channels to the correct speakers.
Once the TWS connection is setup, it will be in Stereo mode by default if both speakers are the same model, otherwise the speakers will be in Party mode by default if different Partybox models are used. You can also switch between Stereo and Party mode in the JBL PartyBox app if two of the same Partybox models are used.

Please note: In order to achieve TWS mode, the speaker must be the same model with the exception of the PartyBox 200 and PartyBox 300 which can be paired together via TWS. You cannot achieve TWS with a PartyBox 1000 and a PartyBox 300. You cannot achieve TWS with a PartyBox 100 and PartyBox 200. However, it is possible to connect a maximum of two of either the Partybox 110, 310, 710 or Encore/Essential together in Party mode - the two speakers then do not need to be the same model, but Stereo mode will not be possible.

Press and hold the Surround and Volume (–) buttons simultaneously for about 3-4 seconds, then let go. The Source selection Button flashes amber, followed by the power button and source buttons flashing several times. 3. The soundbar is now reset.
  • The intensity of the light show is dependent on the amount of audio signal being sent into the unit.

If you are experiencing a light show that doesn't move around very much, it is likely that you are not using a feature on your phone called Bluetooth Absolute Volume*. This means that the volume of your phone/tablet/device is controlled independently from the volume of the speaker.

So, if you have the Pulse 4 set to maximum volume or close to it, but the volume on your device is set at a low level, the light show will show little to no effect. All you have to do is reverse it. Turn up the volume on the device to the maximum and set the Pulse 4 to the desired volume. This will send the correct level to the speaker and the light show will show plenty of effect. This also benefits the sonic quality as well. Therefore, we recommend always having the volume on your device turned up to a high level and then adjusting the volume level on the speaker itself. This way you'll be able to enjoy the light show while also getting good audio quality. Or, if possible, setup your device for Bluetooth Absolute Volume*.

*BLUETOOTH ABSOLUTE VOLUME: Most phones/tablets/devices now use Bluetooth Absolute Volume (a.k.a. volume sync) by default. This is a feature that synchronizes the volumes of the device and the speaker, and allows the speaker volume to be controlled by changing the volume on either the device or the speaker. The volume being sent from the device is fixed at full volume.
  • A new firmware version has been released for the Pulse 4 (Version 0.5.1.0), below is a list of the improvements:
    1. Supports Bluetooth 5.1 profile.
    2. Improves the stability of stereo setup using the JBL Portable* app.
    3. Improves compatibility with Mac computers.
    4. Enhances light show synchronization with music.
The firmware update is installed as an OTA update:
    1. Download and install the JBL Portable* app from the Google Play/App Store.
    2. Connect your Pulse 4 to your phone/tablet through Bluetooth.
    3. Open the JBL Portable app and wait for the Pulse 4 to appear.
    4. On the Pulse 4 screen, select settings (gear cog symbol).
    5. Proceed with installing the firmware update.

*JBL Portable is the new name for the JBL Connect app, the name will change in January 2021.
  • Press and hold the Light Show & Bluetooth buttons together for > 2 seconds.
