JBL's unique JBL QuantumENGINE PC software* powers the immersive surround sound. Select your preferred surround sound settings and personalize your JBL Quantum gaming headsets from a user-friendly dashboard, creating separate profiles and RGB effects, and modifying microphone settings. You can also adjust the equalizer or choose from 6 presets. * Compatible with select models

Spatial sound setting

Choose your sound setting to adjust the surround sound profile to fit for your ears. Using the calibration mic*, the JBL QuantumSPHERE 360 allows for the most accurate and immersive spatial sound experience. * Quantum ONE only.

Audio equalizer for custom sound

Create profiles that enhance the soundscape of specific games or choose from a variety of expertly crafted presets.

RGB effects tuner

Create your own lighting effects with the built-in RGB effects tuner or choose from several preset modes that highlight the headset's capabilities.

Microphone setting

Not too loud, not too quiet. Not too loud, not too quiet. Adjust the microphone volume level and sensitivity. And the sidetone allows you to control how much of your own voice you can hear when talking.

Beyond gaming, how can I use JBL QuantumSURROUND?

JBL QuantumSURROUND technology can be used with any type of multi-channel audio content. For example: Netflix content, Blu-ray, and music mixed in 5.1 or 7.1 surround.

Does it matter if my game output is 5.1 or 7.1?

There’s potentially more detail and spatial resolution in a 7.1 channel setup—and the more detail, the better the experience. However, JBL QuantumSURROUND will still work well with 5.1 output.

Does JBL QuantumENGINE software require internet connection to function?

The JBL QuantumENGINE can run without internet connection, but it needs connection to download and install the software or firmware upgrades.

No, the JBL QuantumENGINE only supports x64 CPU Architectures.

Does JBL QuantumSURROUND work with every game?

JBL QuantumSURROUND works with every game, but the experience is better when your game outputs in surround sound. If your game outputs only 2-channel audio, using JBL QuantumSURROUND will sound like a pair of studio monitors in front of you. You’ll be able to hear the reflections of the sound in the room, but as with any stereo setup, you won’t have any discrete sound sources behind you. With a full 7.1 mix, you’ll be able to hear and locate sounds behind and above you.

Does my EQ have any impact on the JBL QuantumSURROUND/localization/positioning?

In general, EQ shouldn’t affect localization — except in the case of the EQ being used very strongly.

Does the size of my head or height impact the performance of JBL QuantumSURROUND?

How does the brain tell where a sound is coming from? The slight difference in the arrival time of a sound between two ears helps you understand the angle of the sound source from the head. Everyone hears a little differently based on their individual anatomy. This is why it’s important for the QuantumENGINE to know your height and head size—it adjusts to provide the most precise experience possible.

Do I need to calibrate the head tracker sensor?

The head tracker in the Quantum ONE uses your movements to calibrate the sensors. You can speed up the calibration process by doing the following: * Imagine that the headphone is a standard cube with 6 faces (Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, Bottom) * Orient the headphone so that it is sitting on each face of "the cube" sequentially. For example, start with the headphone positioned normally (bottom face of the cube down). Then rotate it so that the right side of the cube is facing down. Then continue through the rest of the faces of the cube. * Hold the headphone in each position for 1 second * Once all the faces of the device have been rotated, set the headphone down on a stationary surface for 2 or 3 seconds.
