Paired to your smartphone and Harman's JBL SMARTBASE APP, Smartbase will make your vehicle more intelligent and safe. It brings ADAS (advanced driver assist system) functions like LDW (lane departure warning), FCW (front collision warning) and Traffic Signal Recognition with no vehicle modifications and/or complex intallation. The embedded Bluetooth speaker system and voice control engine in JBL Smartbase provides the driver a quality handsfree phone call experience. Plus, the driver can pre-define voice control commands, making it language independent and suitable for everyone. JBL Smartbase is compliant with WPC Qi, the most popular standard in the industry, to work with most smartphones. It uses a fixed frequency transmitter to minimize impact to other electrical systems in the vehicle. JBL Smartbase, together with a smartphone, makes your vehicle more smarter and safer.

  • The registration success rate and quality of voice commands depends on the performance of your smart phone’s microphone. Make sure that your smart phone’s microphone is unobstructed and you are speaking clearly when registering commands. If you continue to have issues, try registering using a family member or friend’s smart phone as a test. If voice command registration is successful with their device, the microphone on your smart phone may have issues.
  • Make sure your smart phone supports BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and it is connected to Smartbase via Bluetooth.
  • Voice commands can only be triggered by the user who registered them during setup.
  • This can be caused by dirt and dust accumulating on the charging arm, which can reduce the effectiveness of the adhesive. Clean the surface of the charging arm with a wet cloth or alcohol wipes. Do not use paper towels as these can leave paper debris.
  • This can be caused by the charge arm reaching its thermal temperature cutoff. This is a safety feature to prevent a potential risk. For proper heat dissipation, always be sure to have the charging arm in the open position when your smart phone is attached.
  • • Voice commands only work when receiving a call. • Excessive background noise such as wind or music, could be impacting unit’s effectiveness. Close windows and or reduce the volume of your music and try again.
  • The wireless charge receiver in the smartphone may not be adequately coupled to the wireless charging transmitter on Smartbase. Re-adjust your smart phone’s position on the wireless charge arm.
